He sure is killing it. .but he is already o .a playoff team and they are not likely to trade him, imo.
I misspoke.  That was meant for Degrom...  I was cutting and pasting...
You think they would trade him?  I guess that anyone is fair game but they will always need good SP and having Thor and DeGrom as 1-2 punch seems formidable.

The team stinks and they will hold on to him and drag him down with the ship but if they got some decent hitting you never know.

The mets as an organization has really gone to shit since the Madof thing.  They got LUCKY, yes, lucky, to get to the World Series a few years ago.  Their pitching all peaked at the right time that year, then it fell off a friggin cliff.

I would love to see him on a contender.  Syndegard too.  They both deserve better.

I'm surprised that he didn't call pitch #6 a Ball.

    He's beyond bad.
When people know you're name as an ump it's not a good thing. Hernandez is an egotistical ass.
Hernandez is not only terrible, he's racist.
    Doesn't he hate Spanish people?
    Hernandez hates people from Spain?
I didn't know any Spaniards played in the MLB.

You know what I meant... Hispanic...
Sorry, the mis-use of that bugs me.  I know what you meant.
My wife's family does it all of the time and as someone who is part Latino it fucking grates me.
They still call any people from the East or Southeast Asia as Orientals.   :loser:

He is Cuban -- is his reported racism toward other Latinos?  People from a specific country?
I thought he was the one who claimed MLB was racist against him..?
He is indeed the one who claimed MLB was racist against him.  Playing the race card to whine about not getting prime time and World Series duty when the truth is you just flat out fucking suck at your job - in my opinion - is also a form of racism.

Yeah I thought that - and he got good assignments right after whining.

OK  So Ohtani is being rested for his next start which is against the Yankees.

My take is that the Angels are making sure the Yanks don't get a good look at him and are saving him for the playoffs.

Yes I know that's a long ways away but if they are in a wildcard situation and it's a one game playoff then I want Ohtani in there for that game at this point.

I don't see this as being scared at all.

    Thoughts?

Oh yeah, O had 2 doubles last night to raise his avg to .319

    My thoughts?
They don't want him to get shelled and effect his mojo, especially if he was all hyped up to pitch against his countryman.
No biggie, I think it is a shrewd move.

Ohtani likes the big stage so he wouldn't back down unless there was a really good reason.

The "workload" reasoning is bullshit as he's pitched a bunch of innings in Japan.

He also got shelled in spring training and he's doing just fine now.

I'm still going with the "look" angle.

Monday should be a great game as Verlander goes up against the baby bombers.  I'll stay up to watch that whole game.

Loves the big stage so long as it isn't east of the Mississippi.

    Oh stop it...

Had to edit this as I wanted to add I think that taking out Ohtani to face the yankees is bad for baseball.  This would probably got the highest ratings for any MLB game this year.  If I was the commissioner I'd be pissed.

I mean, he did say he wouldn't play for a team east of the mississippi, right?

I do too.  Tanaka vs. Othani.  SHOOK!

West coast team = Shorter flight to Japan.

I'm hoping that Ohtani at least bats a few games!

I think the Red Sox hit him around. So, maybe they think the NYY will too.

I WISH he was pitching as i wanted to see him pitch against the NYY lineup in Yankee Stadium.

Did the Angels skip Ohtani when the NYY played the Angels out West? or did he pitch?

He turned an ankle after hitting a HR off Kluber.  Did he miss the games after?

I saw a stat today that is just absolutely... well, it's kinda unbelievable, really.

Since he was called up in 2012, Mike Trout has never gone longer than 2 consecutive games without reaching base.

You referring to the day game yesterday against the also ridiculous Tigers?
They support a winner and they haven't won (or been to) World Series since they beat the As.
