this is a tough tough call for me.

sammy is the better singer and musician, but he annoys me severely with his cabo wabo tequila.

dlr can so some cool karate kicks and shit, plus he inspired the Dr, Rockso character in Metalocalypse, so that is a bonus there..

but i like the hagar albums a little better, most notably 5150 and balance, plus that tune from the twister soundtrack... so i have to go with sammy on this one.

Song wise it's a toss up, but personality wise Sammy Hagar...DLR is a tool.

Sammy's a great guy (actually hung with him at the 2007 HOF induction) and a decent musician.

But none of the regroupings can touch the original VH line up in their hey day 79-83. EV's choice to include his son instead of Michael Anthony makes you wonder if it was Eddie that was being the dick all these years. No matter how big a dick DLR is, dumping MA for your son, might prove insurmountable in that regard.

After thinking about it, now I have a wish for one special guest with PJ, MA singing here about it later with PJ!

DLR was the better frontman, singer, and personality.

    Diamond Dave
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

  • The debate rages on. I've been listening to more Sammy stuff recently, though I still take Dave.
