You are going to the Chicago shows, too? Sounds like we need to grab some beers.

Sure am. Where you staying? We got a room at the Conrad, which is only 5-6 blocks from venue. That trip is gonna be great...I love chicago

My favorite city. And idk... I have a friend out there downtown but either that or might look into AirBNB. Still not sure if anyone else is tagging along so obviously I'm not getting stuck with a hotel by myself.

I think NYC is in a category all by itself, so chicago would be my second favorite city.

Plenty of time to figure out details, but yeah we will def have to get together while we are there.

Looks like I need to rejoin the Roll Call. They just had a listening session for the new album at Sonos Studio in LA with Jim and Bo, which I believe was a Roll Call contest opportunity. :-/

You couldn't pay me enough money to live in NYC. I love going there for a weekend but it's sooooo overcrowded and people there suck. When I leave after a weekend I want to just knock random people out walking around.

The new album is pretty cool. Kinda dreamy album all in all. Some stuff that I think will sit amongst their best stuff. Some pretty cool guitar interplay and some fresh keyboard sounds as well. Quite a few growers. A fresh take on a lot of classic MMJ tricks.

I enjoyed those two albums, particularly EU, but I gotta say I think this new one is better. That's only judging from a handful of listens, but it's grown on me with every listen. There is a down moment or two, but I think this one achieves that perfect balance of creativity and catchiness. Some cool new directions and it feels like the most live experience-like of all their albums.

I felt like the article gave props to their live shows. I have to think they're one of the best live bands out there.

Its cool seeing them in the small venues, but I've always wondered what this band could do with a following like PJ's. I don't think this is the album to do it and highly doubt they'll ever reach a level where they're playing arenas or sheds every night, but their sound and show would lend itself well to big crowds and spaces every night.

For me, they are such an inspirational band.

EU has some really fantastic songs it it also has a bunch of songs that are kinda meh. So as a whole it's not exactly one of their strongest from start to finish but I do agree it's underrated.

I think they've always been a great live band but many longtime fans (myself included) were underwhelmed by EU and Circuital. I prefer everything pre-EU to those 2 albums.
I'm trying to avoid listening to the leak because I want to listen to the album front to back when I get the physical copy.

i look at eu and curcuital as them growing as a band and not being afraid to experiment with different things. the fact that, to me, the results were so awesome just speaks to how great this band is.
