They were the highlight of the ACL Fest for me, saw them instead of Stevie Wonder, caught about 3 Stevie songs on the way out Sat night, but the PA system blew up and the sound for his show was for CRAP, everyone was complaining about it. The Stevie show was SUPER crowded and the MMJ set was wide open, I walked right up to about 20-25 rows from the front and the sound was great, there set was sick, Preservation Jazz Hall Band came out and played the last 3 songs!

  • I'm just catching up to all the news today. I was at MSG NYE 2008/2009, but sadly won't be going this time. Hard to get down there on a Wednesday. It'll surely be a memorable show.

edit: Damn, two more shows for Cali? That makes 7 shows in 2011 for My Morning Jacket in California!

well see what you can do...i have a GA spare for now - most likely take this girl im seeing but, who knows, we may not be speaking to each other in december - haha
Hope it works out with the lady friend. Nice little night (or two) in NYC. Show and some sightseeing. Hope it pans out. If not, I might be able to move a few things around and take you up on that spare. Thanks kid. Either way I'm thinking I might not wanna miss this night at MSG. It's a magical place for sure.

me too...RS had on their site that Cee Lo joined them on the bass drum when it was actually the drummer from PHJB.

Loved hearing Dancefloors...hadn't seen it live since '03!

Glad I got my tickets for MSG during the pre-sale, as all I pulled up now were Sec. 301 and 422!

It's going to be a fun show!

I saw them last month at a place that holds 4,000 people, but only 1,800 showed up .

  • In response to a post about Wilco using pre-recorded tracks during their live show in another thread...I'd just like to point out that MMJ are repeat offenders for using many pre-recorded tracks in their live shows.

    Gideon
    Wordless Chorus
    Victory Dance
    Black Metal
    The Day is Coming

But I do agree that all bands should just figure out a way to do it LIVE...maybe take notes from Thom Yorke and Co. ;)

I wrote tha about Wilco. I realize MMJ does it too and it also annoys me with them. However, MMJ does it with a few songs while Wilco did it with several in the show I saw them perform and I was not expecting it. I probably should have.

I have to say, for a band that did what they did at T5, their refusal to switch up their sets on this tour was pretty disappointing. I know they are still supporting Circuital, but they could be playing a lot of different stuff from past albums. Instead, it's always Off the Record, Gideon, Golden, I'm Amazed........and the same old end of Run Thru, Touch Me 2, and Smokin.
