im not the biggest fan of their albums (though tennessee fire and it still moves are great), but live they are great.
That was my first MMJ show. Wish I remembered it a little better than I do 🫠, but I’ve been able to see them countless times since.
That particular Bonnaroo was amazing. PJ, MMJ, and Metallica.
Agreed! I was a casual fan of the band in 2008, but this show cemented them as one of my favorite live acts w/ Pearl Jam and Radiohead. Four hours starting @ Midnight and it was buckets of rain the entire time. Just something I'll never experience again.

This is still my favorite MMJ TV performance. I was in college at the time and remember being pissed I wasn't back home in Mass seeing them play w/ the Boston Pops. What a great pairing for this song in particular. Jim absolutely shreds on vocals here.
I really stepped into MMJ in 2005 with Z. At the time I wasn't totally impressed with Tennessee Fire when it came out, and then kind of faded out from giving them any more interest. Then I remember hearing Master Plan playing in the bookstore in college, and was like "oooh, damn what's THIS??". For whatever reason I didn't go search out It Still Moves at the time, haha, then fast forward a year or so and XPN (Philly local station) was pushing Z hard and really fell in love with that record.
So the next year when it was announced they'd be opening for PJ I was pumped, that was it. The openers in Philly, plus playing It Makes No Difference with Ed, just put it all over the top. Next time they came around I was at every show in town.

Nice! I was also in college then and became a big fan around the same time, and have been to their local shows since they opened for PJ too lol. They're a special band for sure.

Would love to go but highly unlikely. Maybe one year...

Looks like their Bonnaroo set will be live on Hulu Saturday 10.30PM, PT, very late for east coasters. Hopefully Hulu will have rebroadcast availability, however their live broadcasts are usually restricted rewinding or fast forwarding on my ad tier version.
I saw MMJ in St Augustine the other night. Incredible show. It rained/ stormed the entire show. At one point during the solo on Victory Dance, both sides of the stage lit up with two big bolts of lightning. It was wild. Great show. Such an incredible live band.

Saw them last night in indy... Seriously one of the best I've seen. Great live band.
You got an awesome setlist. Good amount of deep cuts. Happy you were there. When I saw the set I was floored honestly. I can’t wait for the 3 shows at beacon.
Grabbed myself a ticket for Massey Hall in Toronto. Pumped.
Good move
I missed the announcement for this somehow but luckily were still a few options for a ticket once I found out. Ended up with a GA as a resale for $200 (CDN) - no idea what original price was. Likely going solo but excited to finally see them for 1st time.
I’m doing all 3 in NYC. With PJ being so inactive, there aren’t many bands that do 3 nights with different sets so I’ll be taking advantage of that. Plus we all know they KILL live
