I understand your selective parrot pattern, but could you at least, every once in awhile, come close to not sounding like you have lost the ability to think for yourself.

--First you say they didn't spit on these people.
--Now you are claiming it was unintentional because they didn't launch a hawker.

    What an idiotic analogy.

It looked to me like the guy was hollering and maybe a little bit of spit come out while he was yelling. MSNBC ran wild with it from there. The congressman of course made it look like he was hit in the face with a brick. I think it was all unintentional.

i don't....that guy would not have gotten in his face if he did not want to demean or intimidate him or spit on him... think about it, when is the last time anyone anywhere got in a stranger's face and said anything civil? it was to taunt and intimidate, and whether he hocked one or not is not the issue. the issue is this guy got in a government official's face, and spit in it...like a true and reasoned adult...

I am not a racist Gimmie. Even though I did not vote for Obama when he was inaugurated I sat down and I made my five year old daughter watch it and I explained to her that this was a moment in history not to be forgotten because it was the first time a black man has been elected president and I was proud of America for that reason. I understand there are alot of racist involved in the tea party but I believe it is a small amount and shouldn't shadow what most of the tea partiers are trying to accomplish. What you are basically saying is that if you do not agree with what Obama is doing then you're a racist if i'm understanding correctly. And also....I haven't been protesting by the way, I haven't been to one tea party. Not that i'm against it, just haven't been to one.

good on you for making your daughter witness history. but i have to disagree with you when you say that race and bogotry is not a factor...why have so many hate groups popped up since obama won the election? and i have a hard time believing that any white supremacist group would support obama or any democrat for that matter....

and what is this shit with the governor of virginia declaring april as confederate history month and making no mention of the scourge of slavery? i give people the benefit of the doubt in most cases, but this guy would have to be a fucking moron to leave out mentioning the struggle over slavery that was a large portion of what they were fighting about. that would be like me declaring april iraq war rememberance month and conveniently leaving out we went to war under false pretenses based on a lie that iraq had wmds...

that last quote is right, yes there are people who are racist but we can't go to the other extreme and say that all or even most are racist. that is like saying that Holland is a country of thugs because some fight during a soccer game.

As far as all the hate groups popping up suddenly, I feel it's something that has been building up over the years. People have always bitched and complained about the government and maybe all the spending they have done kinda pushed people over the edge. It just so happens that it happens to be during a black presidents tenure. The straw that broke the camels back sortaspeak. But, that's just me.

Yep it reminds me when President Obama distanced himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer

According to the indictment Hutaree (militia) was planning to use weapons of mass destruction. lol so either pipebombs are now considered weapons of mass destruction or ieds are which the gov in its indictment has admitted are based on the ones in iraq. whats stunning about this, is now we can come to the conclusion that indeed weapons of mass destruction were present in iraq. since the gov has admitted so in its indictment against Huturee.

aerial, if you would read news other than what is filtered to you by fox news you would know that hate groups are on the rise in the last 2 years in this country. why not google it and learn something? or at least do a "thread search" on this forum because we have discussed it and i know that you probably were in that thread. for starters, here are some links for you to read about the increase in hate groups..

also, you need to remember that "national day of prayer" is not exactly the most important thing for him to participate in. this is not an exclusively christian nation by the way, so the man can do what he wants. but if your church group wants to feel all disrespected because he did not participate yet hosted a ramadon dinner that is up to you...last i heard ramadon is a holy time for muslims that i dunno, probably involves some sort of prayer right??

are you defending hutaree? you really should not minimize and laugh at what pipebombs can do. they can be filled with nails and other types of schrapnel that can do some serious serious damage and they are very lethal and dangerous. pipe bombs and ieds can take out and destroy an armored hummer so they are no joke and depending on the materials used can be considered weapons of mass destruction...they are no laughing matter, unless you are someone who follows fred phelps and thank god for ieds at military funerals, which i am sure you are not...and these were not the wmds referred to in iraq, they are not nerve gas, "nukular" or dirty bombs...sheesh,,,

Don't you wonder why though? This nation was founded on Christian principles, not Muslim. His voting base is largely church attending Christians. Blacks and Hispanics are by a large percentage believers in God. The left whites may not attend to such a large percentage but he certainly has a much larger base of Christians than Muslims.

Bill Clinton was always in the news about attending services, I believe at a predominately black church as well, yet we never hear of Obama attending. At least I have not. With all of these rumors about Obama really being muslim, along with his continual denial of being Muslim, why is he not doing anything else to stop those rumors? Does he not have to, probably not. However why hide behind the truth?

to both of you. you are unhappy because President Obama welcomed Muslims into the White House for Ramadam celebrations?

so what? did it bother you when Bush and Clinton did it too?

President Obama is not the first to welcome Muslims into the White House for Ramadan celebrations. In fact, it has been an annual tradition since 1996, when then-First Lady Hillary Clinton hosted a dinner during Eid al-Fitr, the three-day festival marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In 2001, President George W. Bush followed suit. Shortly after 9/11, he hosted the first White House Iftar dinner — the daily breaking of fast at sundown...

There's another possibility which you left off the list which involves some rational thought -

What if he is simply trying to give the impression to people all around the world that we accept all faiths and respect them equally?

Why is it that freedoms in our nation have become tools not to protect the use of, but instead ways to bolster opposition against? Free speech and freedom to practice religion (to name a few) aren't to merely protect your right to do so, but the other guys you may disagree with.

why is this so important to you? you seem to be the only one making an issue out of this. seriously, why do you care if he cancels "national day of prayer". you can pray everyday, why do we need a national day for it??? this is a non-issue in the grand scheme of things. to me it seems like you are just grasping at anything you can find to paint obama in a negative light. he is not christian enough for you so you complain about that.. what next? he is not american enough...oh wait....

I was watching a show last night dealt in strong terms about racism and class in the US and it just always makes me think. Two of the biggest issues which make our nation great are also always the elephant in the room no one likes to talk about because it pulls off the scab and strikes a nerve which cuts through so much of the nonsense people don't like to acknowledge in society and through our history.

Drama, drama, at least get it right.

“Congress established the day in 1952 and in 1988 set the first Thursday in May as the day for presidents to issue proclamations asking Americans to pray.”

    1. President Obama DID NOT cancel Prayer Day it is held every year. He signed the standing proclaimation recognizing National Prayer Day, but decided to skip the East Room event that became a standing practice with Bush, Jr.

    2. Over the years people like James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, with his wife, Shirley Dobson, chair of the National Day of Prayer Task Force have tried to turn this day into a conservative-Christain only observance. With GW Bush help, over the past 8 years, they have successfully sustained that mentality.

    3. President Obama opted not to follow in GW Bush's footsteps, and decided not to have the East Room gathering at the White House on this Day and also, opted out of the breakfast sponsored by the Catholic church the following day.

3, President Obama's goal was simple - to allow people on National Prayer Day to pray where and as their faith dedicated. That's not acceptable or Godly enough for people like the Dobson.

With May 6 approaching, I guess we'll hear this same old Dobson song for another four weeks.

Mind if I stimulate your short term memory - You forgot to mention that President Obama also

    1) Hosted Christmas at the White House even had a Christmas dinner event.

--- The biggest celebration at the White House, including all the many, many events that lead up to Christmas.

    2) Hosted Hanukkah at the White House even had a Hanukkah dinner event.

<>--- State Senator Terri Bonoff (DFL-Minnetonka) said today she is thrilled and honored
to attend the first White House Hanukkah celebration hosted by President Obama.
Sen. Bonoff and Sen. Dick Cohen (DFL-St. Paul) are among the roughly
500 Americans invited to the gathering, which will be held on Wednesday,
Dec. 16 at the White House in Washington, D.C.

So President Obama hosted a dinner for the so-called three major religions, Christianity, Judaism and Islam and that makes him a muslim. Go figure!!!

    3. Yikes!!! What no Kwanzaa dinner, does that mean is he's not black?

Gimme posted this....and what is this shit with the governor of virginia declaring april as confederate history month and making no mention of the scourge of slavery? i give people the benefit of the doubt in most cases, but this guy would have to be a fucking moron to leave out mentioning the struggle over slavery that was a large portion of what they were fighting about. that would be like me declaring april iraq war rememberance month and conveniently leaving out we went to war under false pretenses based on a lie that iraq had wmds...

    Which I responded with
.... aerial wrote:Yep it reminds me when President Obama distanced himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer
but Hosted a Ramadan Dinner At the White House....but hey that’s just him....

Point being why does Gimmie expect this guy to add in slavery if he doesn’t want to.....just like Obama did not have to try and back all religions ....... maybe it was because he is Muslim....who the hell knows at this point since he has everything about him Sealed

Drama, drama, at least get it right.

“Congress established the day in 1952 and in 1988 set the first Thursday in May as the day for presidents to issue proclamations asking Americans to pray.”

    1. President Obama DID NOT cancel Prayer Day it is held every year. He signed the standing proclaimation recognizing National Prayer Day, but decided to skip the East Room event that became a standing practice with Bush, Jr.]

I never said he canceled it....I said he dissed the whole thing and if it was not required by law for him to issue a proclamation that day who knows if would have even followed thru with that?..

aerial, if you would read news other than what is filtered to you by fox news you would know that hate groups are on the rise in the last 2 years in this country. why not google it and learn something? or at least do a "thread search" on this forum because we have discussed it and i know that you probably were in that thread. for starters, here are some links for you to read about the increase in hate groups..

thre are more just look for them...

also, you need to remember that "national day of prayer" is not exactly the most important thing for him to participate in. this is not an exclusively christian nation by the way, so the man can do what he wants. but if your church group wants to feel all disrespected because he did not participate yet hosted a ramadon dinner that is up to you...last i heard ramadon is a holy time for muslims that i dunno, probably involves some sort of prayer right??

you just confirmed my point National Day of Prayer was not important enough to him to participate but Ramadan was

I went to your source for hate groups ( I only got to one so far ) the splcenter link....now I understand were you think people that disagree with Obama are racist....anyway I researched one of the lawyers and came up with this....so I am discrediting that link due to bias....but I will check out the others....this is what I found on the splcenter

This is what you wrote and I quote:

My point is ...Obama claims to be Christian.....but cancels the National day of prayer....I don’t really care if Muslums come to the white house....but why dis the Christians.....
He is either sucking up to Muslims
Lied and is not a Christian but a Muslim (lied is my point)

--You wrote it, I didn't make it up.. Its there, written by you.

Now you come back with this 'psychic assumption'.

You can believe what ever you wish, and twist it any way you want in order to meet your mental requirements regarding the President, because I'm not trying to change you. However, at least when you are shown that you've made an inaccurate statement, don't takes us along on your trip to Fantasy Island.

and to you i again reply, NOBODY CARES OTHER THAN YOU! this whole prayer day issue has nothing to do with the thread so please stop trying to derail it any more than it already is...why are you making such a big deal about national prayer day? this is a non-issue to 95% of all americans, and the ones that do care are probably "family values" politicians so they can use it to gain political capitol with the uninformed single issue voter.. i would think that someone like you who has admitted to having to work 2-3 jobs at a time has more important things to worry about than what the president is doing on national prayer day....am i wrong?
