Sam Adams light. To me it blows the doors off regular Sam. In New England we have the seasonal beers: Summer Ale, Octoberfest, Winter Lager and White Ale. These are unbelievable beers but not sure if they are all over the country or not.

    the winter lager is great.

noticed you're from sf. i was there for olf and had some anchor steam (?? is that what it was, i can't really remember) and it was pretty good. got any comments on that particular brew?

Anchor Stream, and yes, it's quite good - however I lost interest in it over the years since I've lived here.

Guinness and Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA
is the 90 minute significantly better than the 60? 60 minute is a favorite of mine, havent tried 90 yet, because being a poor college student, i havent been able to bring myself to pay the same amount for a 4-pack as a 6

More hop and bitter in the 90 makes it well worth the extra money if you are a hophead like myself. I've been homebrewing beer for 3 years and have never tried to replicate the 90 because it's too damn yummy for me to ruin by cloning ! :D
  • I've found Red Hook ESB, Hop Devil Ale and Lagunitas IPA in the Seattle area and NYC. Does that count as being available across the country? ;)

I like Yuengling a lot for a cheap beer that seems to be widely availble.

I do like Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale a lot too.

On a Summer day Hoeggarden is a tastey beer.

for two that are not as easy to get your hands on in some places:
Avery's Maharajah and North Coast Old Rasputin great beers for their individual styles

Sorry it is hard for me to name just one beer when talking about beer.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale for me. I also like Yuengling. My local bar has Yuengling pitchers for $7.50 every day except Friday when they're $6.50. Can't beat that price.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

My neighbor just went to PA on Friday to get his annual stash of Fireworks. Apparently Pa is the closest state that sells the BIG fireworks. Anyways, I had him pick me up 2 cases of Yuengling while he was there and he just delivered them to me today. Now I wish I had him get me 4. They aren't gonna last long.

i'm blessed to have a Binny's in town so we get just about everything.

from a national stand point, i don't know what everyone else gets but...

    Bells Porter is excellent
Samual Smith Taddy Porter and Oatmeal Stout are both good
    Sierra Nevada IPA is good
Magic Hat is a fine choice as well.
i had some 2012 last week, and that was good.

stay away from Sam Adams. most over rated beer out there. yes i said it. Same goes for Goose Island.

and the worst beer i have ever had was Modello Negra. disgusting.

    That's just one thing I can't do :P

MAYBE Bud Light with Lime as to kill some of that Budweiser taste, but just straight up Bud makes me wanna puke. Yes, even after I've had a few.
