only heard laredo and factory but when I buy I expect to me playing it non stop.

There's three really crap songs on the album, which kind of ruin it a bit. You just need to skip them. When this band are good, they're really good, but when they're bad then they really suck elephants.
Though fortunately they have more good songs than bad songs.

the good better outweigh the bad cause i just bought tix to see these guys live in july.

Gave the knew album another try again today. I can get into 3 songs. :( It is just not meant to be i don't think. I really wanted to like it.

I really like it now. Give it about 3 or 4 listens and you'll be able to find about 6 or 7 good tracks on it:

    Compliments
    Factory
    Way Back Home
    Laredo
    Older
    Northwest Apartment
    Bartles & James
I dig Compliments, Laredo, & Bartles James
I kind of like older too

    Not much else though.

Is it called "Bartles & James"? I thought it was called "Neighbor".

I think 'Infinite Arms' is pretty terrible...and I'm a huge Band of Horses fan.

I think my favorite is the title track. Excellent song.

Infinite Arms is my intro to 'em. They remind me a bit of MMJ and Fleet Foxes.

I'm amazed nobody has mentioned "Evening Kitchen" yet. It is far and away the best song on the album.
    cool little live version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYnKHiTfehc

I enjoy Factory and Dilly the most after that.

Working on the rest. Laredo is nice. I think this is a great album that is going to take a bit of time but will sit nicely in my collection. It ain't a rocker but i've got other bands for that.

I think 'Infinite Arms' and 'Evening Kitchen' are shit. The rest of the albums good though.

I've gone from saying the whole album's shit, to saying 3 songs are shit, to saying just two songs are shit. Maybe soon I'll be saying it's the best thing I've ever heard!

Why confused? I'm saying the album's a grower. Not so difficult to comprehend.

but you didn't say the album was a grower. you felt the need to say "I think 'Infinite Arms' and 'Evening Kitchen' are shit" in direct response to my initial post.

the need to do that confused me.

But moving on... i got tickets to see these guys at the Roxy in la on tuesday night. seats around 450 folks. I'm excited!

Many people here have said they don't like the album e.t.c. I'm just saying that in my opinion there are a few crap songs on it but that overall the albums really good, especially after a few listens.

Hope you have a good time Tuesday. I'd like to see them live myself. I reckon they'd be better in a smaller venue too - more suited to their more intimate songs.

BOH is one of my top five favorite bands. Cease to Begin has been one of my favorite albums of the decade.

I have to say, Infinite Arms tops it. To me it's pure genius. Made me realize that like pj, ill appreciate everything i get from this band. Im totally blow away by this album...

Me too. Does anyone have a nice version of BoH's closing song, Am I a Good Man?

I think the fact that a cover is this bands best song says quite a bit.

Whoa, take it easy Dewie...I am in agreement with most of your other music posts, and you're a very knowledgeable dude when it comes to music, but I gotta disagree with you on this. It's not their best song, just a real nice cover. BoH is really good.

They are doing 2 low-key shows in L.A. this week....tonight at the Masonic Lodge on the grounds of the Hollywood Forever Cemetary (acoustic) and tomorrow night at the Roxy.

I saw their acoustic show tonight at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary....great show!

How did they distribute the Roxy tickets? I am looking for 1 or 2!

I agree, except I thought they were pretty average live. I seemed to enjoy 1-2 songs each time I heard them, but I got bored of them pretty quickly and it became nothing more than background music.
