Take That - Wembley 2009. 75,000 hysterical women and 5000 patient blokes.

I think we've done this and I've typed this before. Or am I losing my mind?

Oh and I saw Culture Club.
  • way back in 1990. David Lee Roth, Cinderella and Extreme. The Knick seats at leat 12.000 and 9000 of the seats were empty.

Awful music and thankfully PJ came along and saved us.

Oh I hear you! I saw DLR supported by Warrant  in 1990 (possibly 1991-not sure now)...I have been somewhat successful in wiping it from my memory!!

Got roped into seeing 'Bread' back in High School by my girlfriend.
It wasn't a total loss, because 'Steely Dan' opened with their debut album.
But, yeah... 'Bread'. For a Led Zeppelin/Who/Sabbath/Bowie/Alice Cooper kid... it was audio lobotomy.

    :problem: :shh:
I'd forgotten that Bread even EXISTED.
Thanks (not really) for the reminder. :lolno:

You saw Culture Club!? You're my new hero! I begged my mum to let me see Culture Club when they toured Australia in '83... she wouldn't budge, I was only 9. She finally relented when Wham came by... I was 11, it was my first concert :D

I've seen New Kids on the Block... twice. Once in '91 and again in '08, I had a blast, I've never laughed so much at a show. I'm also seeing Backstreet Boys this year... that's right, you heard me. I'm not embarrassed... I think it's funny. I don't take myself or alot of music too seriously. I'm going to laugh at harmonies and formation dancing... gold!

Ummm, please tell me that you were drugged and taken to the ICP concert.... against your own free will. Please!
  • OK, here goes... & these r just the ones that r NOW embarrassing... & my excuses...

New Kids on the Block: I was about 7 yrs old & LOVED them, my baby-sitter brought me. My parents gave me no guidance whatsoever when I was growing up, in regards to good music. It took me MANY more years to come to my senses.

    R. Kelly: I went for the openers (who do NOT embarrass me)- Xscape & Salt n Pepa.

Britney Spears: Not my fault- I was on my senior class trip to Disney World, & she was playing in the middle of Magic Kingdom, right in front of the castle. Unavoidable

Creed: I went for the openers (who do NOT embarrass me)- Oleander & Our Lady Peace.

Megadeath: I went for the openers (who do NOT embarrass me)- Staind & Sevendust.

Nickelback (3 times!): I'll just admit it- I actually liked their music. It still doesn't really bother me, plus they played with other good bands. But at the last show... OMG... he starts yelling into the mic, "When I say Nickel, u say Back! NICKEL!"... & of course the crowd yells, "BACK!"... over & over!!! WTF?! I was like, is this really fucking happening?! That was by far my most embarrassing concert moment. Never again

BTW, there r TONS more I've seen that I'd probly be condemned for around here, as I have kinda diverse music tastes... but I'm not embarrassed about them. I love everyone from Naughty by Nature, to Phil Collins, to Nine Inch Nails, & lots in between... & I'm not ashamed of them.
(Plus I always have my 38 PJ/EV shows to even it all out ;))

    Three years ago.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.
  • New Kids on the Block.... it was a b-day present from my mom when i was 7 or 8...I got all geared up in my MC Hammer pants and LA Gears....i (thought i) was stylin' You bet your ass I had to decline when mother offered to get me tix for their recent show, for a recent birthday.....

I saw David Lee Roth at the Sheboygan County Fair in Plymouth, Wi. THe stage was built in front of the grandstands on the front stretch of our local 1/4 mile dirt race track. I guess I'm not as embarrased to say that I went as much as he had to be just playing there. 300 people...maybe? They played "Jump" and he did some sweet scissors kicks though.

DLR's band kicked ass in the day (Steve Vai on guitars, Billy Sheehan on bass).....they tore through a solo together that still stands as one of the best jams i've seen live (next to dual drum solos by Godsmack, but i digress)....the 80's was a rough time.....got dragged to Whitney Houston with Kenny G. by a girlfriend. Now try sitting through that catastrophe! I've seen over 100 concerts and that show still haunts me....
