Wow. 7 for Riot Act, but none for Backspacer and only 2 for Avocado?

I'm going to give Backspacer a vote. Right now it is my favorite album. The others had their days.

love all of them, and Vs, vitalogy, no code, backspacer all deserve honourable mention, but its gotta be TEN, by clear distance.
  • NO CODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Completely unexpected and pissed off everyone that superficially liked them up until that point. That album separated the the real fans from the fly by nighters and still gives me goose bumps. Don't get all defensive but Smile and In My Tree top 5 songs ever created by the band and they are back to back on album. I love the fact that other than people that listen to their music do not even know these songs or how great they really are. To calm the masses, I love all their shit and they are "coolest band on the planet"(Ben Harper, Madison Square Garden 2003) but to have sick shit on albums that can still be considered hidden gems shows the strive for constanly evolving as a band.

^^^ nicely written. now normally I'd say Vs. but I'm in a No Code mood. So throw me down for NC, too.

besides if I'd ask myself which one I could take on a desert island right now it'd probably be No Code. for the artwork alone.

  • Yield, and if anyone votes for Backspacer then they should go listen to another band.

How can you say this about your favorite band? It's music written by the same people that wrote yield, saying that an album that they made is that bad is like slaping them in the face, you make me sick

I cannot believe I managed to make you sick and slap all 5 band members with my post; for this I truly apologize. That bieng said the fact that this band made a gem like Yield is exactly the reason why I hate Backspacer. I have (had) high expectations for this band and frankly they (imo) gave us a real stinker. I don't see why loving a band means you have to love everything they produce; blind devotion is not the mark of a true fan its the mark of an idiot.

NICE! It's still losing to yield 29 to 5 though :?
  •

thats fine.. BS isn't my favorite, but i had not choice but to vote for it... my #1 has been a dead heat between No Code and Vitalogy for about 15 years now.

BTW, anyone voting for Yield should slap themselves in the face and listen to another band :mrgreen: (jk)

Man you have to chill out. I was bieng dramatic with my dislike for Backspacer. Do you really think some Backspacer lover (who we can assume must be deaf) is going to come read my post and start crying and burning all their PJ Cd's?
I think their are literally hundreds of people on this board who take any insults on PJ as personal attacks. Lets all relax and unite with our dislike for Backspacer and the bands overpriced tickets.
