We hid it so we could have gathering of twelve or more people...

OH! THE PEARL JAM ALBUM! Yeah, sorry, I'm of no help.
  • i don't think everyone hates it. it's just an uneven album. the highs are high but the lows are expecially low (cropduster, get right). It's a hell of a lot better than the last two albums though. Is the record that hard to find? It was in the good section forever before i picked up a copy.

something just isn't there on this album. great songs, but the studio versions for the most point don't do it for me.

Live, however, i FUCKING LOVE IT!!! Green Disease, LBC, 1/2 Full, Arc, I am Mine, Can't Keep, Save you, You are. fucking brilliant tunes live.

As far as the vinyl goes, i'd like to get my hands on it.

sorry man. too many get rights, cropdusters, and ghosts that summer killing momentum in sets. but if you dig it i'm happy for you.

Imagine how much it sucks to be Cropduster right now....

Someone comes in and starts bashing Cropduster and Get Right; regarding them as the lowest of all songs.

Then in comes the Riot Act knight in shining armour on white horseback to save and redeem those songs only to say....

"Get Right is LOW?! Get Right is fantastic!"

meanwhile Cropduster stays in the dark corner as he just got his ass handed to him.

Haha true but I'm not a huge fan of that song either, but I wouldn't say it's LOW
  • "Cropduster" is a fucking brilliant song. Who gives a shit what it sounds like wedged between "Corduroy" and "Even Flow".

I walked 3 miles in sleet after an 8am class to purchase Riot Act on the day of it's release...and was pleased with the purchase.

All the Riot Act threads end like this:

X song sucks... X song is Mediocre...

Ghost and Cropduster are awesome BTW :P

I don't see how you say "awful", frankly they are to plain to be awful, I will admit they kinda bore me at times but if your listening to the album straigt through they add a nice touch

to me its worse that way. in fact i made a playlist of Riot Act without them (and LBC) because they hurt the flow IMO. too many songs on that album anyway :).

i like to get to the awesome second half as soon as possible.

how much would riot act on vinyl go for these days if its so hard to find? what about lost dogs? thanks alot
  • My girlfriend and I went to see Radiohead in Cuyahoga Falls in April '08. While we were there in Ohio, we went to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Museum. I got Ten and Riot Act on vinyl for $35 total. It was a good day.

Riot Act is probably my favorite album. I like the production and the music is fucking fantastic. I think it is the most complete album Pearl Jam have put out. Of course, it saddens me that the impetus for the album was the death of fans. RIP

Mike always pours out his heart when his fingers touch nickel, but none more so than on All Or None.

1/2 Full, Ghost, Green Disease, Help Help...the album is amazing. I Am Mine is one of the most uplifting songs ever written. The syncopation of You Are, the bombast of Save You, the vulnerability of Thumbing My Way and Arc, the spoken word of Bu$hleaguer. It has a little bit of everything.
