It depends. Sony does fantastic remastering work, but Pearl Jam might have their own people do it, in which case it will definitely be compressed and hard limited for the I-pod generation (butchered, in other words).
My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12
If they have Brendan re-mix the songs, as he did for Rearviewmirror, I am all for it. That thing deffintley needs some touch ups. And if it comes with an extra disc of live performances, and/or unreleased material, demos, alternate versions, etc. Even better.
words seem so out of place.

The only way I am game for a re-release by any band is if the studio album is re-recorded as if its the first time the band went into the studio. Itwould be neat how a "studio" version of any song sounds 20 years after we are used to hearing the same version over and over.
Otherwise, re-release? I'm content with my original.

i personally like the original Black over the RVM one, and since a lot of Ten songs were already remastered on RVM i dont see the point. and what rarites could there be that havent already been released on Lost Dogs?
i need more information. this doesnt really make sense to me.
well, theres is a good handful of tracks that were recorded but not released on lost dogs. i say throw those on the first disc, after the remixed/remastered version of TEN, and then use the 2nd disc for a full concert from the era...similar setup to the Who's Next Deluxe Edition...i've got plenty of "modern" era PJ tracks from Ten...released a great SQ version of an old show from '91-'92 instead of a mish-mash of Ten tracks from '08 as the 2nd disc and i'll be happy...no idea what the dvd content will be, but it could always just be the album in 5.1 with little/no visual content...hope its a show or documentary, but who knows...
As we know from the email we received that there may be a chance that Ten is re-released.
My question is simple: What are your thoughts?
i don't ever buy reissues. why? seems silly.
And I'm not living this life without you, I'm selfish and clear

...at the very least.
I think the most important track mentioned is Hold On. Before Lost Dogs, I had never heard that song mentioned, let alone a leaked demo or something. This sort of leads me to believe its entirely possible they have some other songs they recorded during that period that none of us know anything about.

I'm sure there are quite a few songs they've recorded that we've never heard.
I'm all for it. My Ten disc has been played so many times, most of the tracks don't play right anymore. Never bothered getting a new one since I have everything on the iPod, but hey, now I've got a good excuse to buy the CD again.
I also see it as an excellent oppertunity to buy a CD again.

Just something like that, with the released B-sides on disc 1 and all the outtakes/rough mixes on disc 2.
If there are no TEN era rarities on this set to favor a 92 live recording it would be lame. But if this set has 2008 live recordings on it, now that would be super lame!!
About the DVD, it will be great when it has the 'alive/evenflow/jeremy/oceans vids, and maybe some BBC/SNL/MT unplugged/MTV awards footage or some unreleased stuff. Or some high quality audio will do, once again releasing 2008 era stuff would be just stupid and a missed chance.
The version of Alive on RVM sounds better I reckon.
More dynamic sound.
I am torn between the two versions of Even Flow.
I'd like the Ten version to be made to sound like Alive on RVM, less reverb more dynamic sound.

I'd say this is likely since they're gonna have a second disc of unreleased and rarities to fill. Maybe there's even an actually studio version of Footsteps out there.
No it's not. That's from a Rockline performance with some harmonica dubbed over it. I want a full band studio version, along the lines of the perfromances of it from the early 90s.
Personally, just seems like another way to make $$. It's been 17 years since Ten came out. Not even a 20th anniversay edition and they are too late for a 15th. Just don't see the point right now.
are you kidding? you don't see the point? all the material is there for a special package. what diff does it make that its put out in 09' or in 10'? its not like it will become more special if they release it in 10'. honestly? i'll buy anything this band releases, or re-releases.

I've been told it's been done by Brendan O'Brien.

I bet it will be brickwalled like the new metalica disc :P
What is "brickwalled"?

Volume pushed beyond the limit. The waveform has no dynamic peaks and valleys and looks like a "brickwall".
That would be a remix which is totally different. Perhaps it will be a two disc set with the original mix on one, and a remix on the other?
It would be cool if they had a documentary about the album, like the one that exists about Nevermind!
It won't be. Remastered version and a rarities/unreleased disc. Everyone has the original mastered version, there's not much point in including that.

They've re-recorded it. It will be the quick tempo, funkless version so people have a chance to go piss when listening to the album.

What about Goat? or was that a Bad Radio thing. i cant remember.
i dont see them releasing any of that stuff anyway. I think Ed hated Brother for example.
i thought that's because tribute bands suck?
My 2 Cents:::
maybe they're re-recording it??? with the band as-is? slightly different arrangements? different vocals and leads, etc? that would be pretty cool...
like i said, just a thought....
