Be careful with demands and requests. Remember Cincinnati '06? ;)

I cannot seem to recall what you are talking about, sir. Do I know you? Where's Cincinnati? Is that where they serve cheap PBR at their concerts?

130,000... I might be overly optimistic... so let's say first 7 rows, almost for sure. Last reserved show I went to was Vegas 2006 and got 16th row. The Vegas shows are always pretty packed though, and I did some comparisons to the shows from last year on touring fans, pretty sure I'll be in 5-7 unless of course I win the LOTTO and get 1 or 2. :)

I'm not familiar with how things work (TC seating-wise) these days. The last time I saw them was '03, OKC & Dallas. And I had 8th and 7th row respectively...197,000.

So, I would be shocked if you weren't close.

I'm certainly hoping to be close.
  • I don't want you to get too excited, but in '03, I had 7th row in KC and my number is 181,xxx. Now that wasn't a tour opener (and I don't care what you say about New Orleans, this show is the tour opener), and it was at an outdoor venue. So who knows.

Assuming that the Floor two section is 60 seats wide and the Floors one and three sections are 20 a piece (I'm only estimating, and these estimates might be low) that would mean to get 7th row seats, there would need to be 250 people in the fan club with a lower roll number than you that bought seats (taking out the first two rows entirely). Just doing the math in my head, I'm thinking that anyone with a sub-200,xxx number would HAVE to have 5th row or better.

What do you guys think? If you've seen a show at the Sprint, how wide are the rows?

I love when the venues have those virtual seating charts, like Spectrum had. You can pick row one and two and then really see what the stage/ your view looks like and dream about the lottery. I don't think KC venue has that but been meaning to check again and see.

So is there a good place ANYWHERE around the stadium for some really good BBQ that isnt either a formal sitdown or crazy expensive place?

I've been told I have to try some BBQ or brisket or whatever while I'm in KC... now I just need to find a good place for some lunch when I get in there. :)

what kind of seat are you all expecting?

I don't want to jinx it, but I'm expecting to be on the floor, 3rd or 4th row.

Has anyone heard when we're supposed to pick up tickets?

I'm shaking as I sit here thinking about it, I can barely stand the wait!

    3rd or 4th? What's your #?

Yes, Capitol Federal Park's seating arrangement has much longer rows seating more people per row, my number is 177xxx so I would be really happy for a 7th row seat. I think we will be sitting around the same area unless one of us wins the lotto.

'03 was a little different, if you lined up early, you could get a little closer in the overall "block" of seats. I think the indoor arenas also work to our advantage, seems like all the outdoor shows last year, member numbers kind of were further away than the indoor numbers with a comparative amount of people (talking about touringfans, hell of a time for them to be down). The guy that said in the 60,000s, I'm pretty sure you will be 3rd row right behind the lottery. Gonna be a great time.

Anyone in KC been to the NCAA Basketball museum thing? My wife wants to go, but not sure if it's worth $12 a pop.

  • Hey, drsluggo and anyone else! If you are hungry for some KC Barbecue I cannot recommend a restaurant more than Arthur Bryant's Barbecue (http://www.arthurbryantsbbq.com). It's located about 1.7 miles away from the Sprint Center at 18th and Brooklyn (take Grand south until you hit 18th, then take that to Brooklyn and take a quick left, it's the unassuming building on the right). It is one of, if not the, finest Barbecue restaurant in the world. And very reasonable. I strongly recommend the ribs (though if you eat a full slab as I sometimes do, you might need to take a nap before the show). Dammit, now I'm hungry at it's only 8:30am!

Jack Stack is also very, very good, but a bit more $$. I love, love, love their pulled pork and sausage. Very close to the The Sprint Center (less than a mile).
