    Yes this is true. That's why i would never buy it. Really small insignificant issue especially if you only paying 40 bucks a night for a room. Like alot insurance it's a rip off no question.

    Exactly. In all the times I have used Priceline over the years I have never once not ended up checking in to the room that I booked.

    That is a ridiculous deal for a Buffalo room though ... for those who haven't booked a room yet I would JUMP ALL OVER THIS...

    My double negative means it is a positive, meaning that I have always ended up checking in to the room (thus no need for travel insurance) 8-)

    I just tried on Priceline for a 3 star in downtown Buffalo putting in a bid of $35 and got nothing - only option is to expand my search to include a 2.5 star hotel... what exact steps did you take to get that low a price? Thanks!

    Prices change constantly on Priceline. As rooms get booked, the remaining rooms get more expensive. I would stick to 3 stars in Buffalo. You have to wait 24 hours and you can make the same bid again with a higher offer.

    An advanced bidding tip that will work for Buffalo is this: you can submit a new bid right away (without waiting the 24 hours) if you add another zone to your bid. So, what you do, is see if there is a zone within the Buffalo area that doesn't have any hotels 3 stars or above (in your case since you are bidding fro a 3 star property). Priceline will actually let you add that zone to your bid (along with downtown Buffalo) and bid again. If you get a room, you HAVE TO get one in downtown Buffalo because the other region doesn't have any 3 star properties. This "trick" allows you to change only your offer and no other parameters of your bid.

    If the Buffalo area, there are 2 regions that don't have any properties 3 stars or above:

    South Buffalo - Hamburg & East Niagara Falls, NY.

    So, what you need to do is enter the exact same parameters as before - 3 star, downtown Buffalo, May 10th. But this time add one of the two regions above and increase your price. If you are still rejected, add the other one of the 2 regions above (that doesn't have a 3+ star property) and increase your price once again and bid.

    I hope that made sense...

    I'm from DC road tripping to Cleveland (May 9) and Buffalo (May 10), then back to DC. I have a spare to each show. Member # 188XXX. My seats are usually rather awesome at the big venues. This will be my first time at a smaller venue, so I'm hoping for even better seats.

    I will give preference to anyone who wants to road trip with me (from DC or anywhere along the way) and split gas and (cheap) hotels. I plan to leave Sunday morning (May 9), and get back to work in DC by about noon on Tuesday, May 11.

    If you're looking for a preference id go with the hyatt ... its about a mile out from the arena but that really doesn't matter since you can take the train. The train picks you up at behind the hyatt and drops you off at the footsteps of the arena... Walking from the Adams mark is imo not walking friendly, compared to the hyatt...
