Lasting relationships have compromise so tell hubby this. If he wants a lasting relationship he has to compromise just as you are willing to do. Tell him you would rather he would accompany you to the shows as part of the compromise. Men can get a little jealous of PJ and related things.

If I were in a relationship, and my significant other said " you can't go to a PJ show" I would just laugh at them.
serious, I would just laugh because I wouldn't even know what else to say.

then I would get my tickets and have a great time at the shows.

go and hang out with Crazy Breed, we have a mutual friend and I hear he is an alright cat to hang with.
    Peace, Love.

ahhhhhhhhhh, your problems in your marrage must extend beyond this. i can't immagine not trying to make my wife happy, or atleast trying to, why can't you do both, 9 days, turkeys are stupid and easy to hunt that can't take more than 3 or 4 days at the max. then it's PJ time. i've been married 10 years this month, time apart is absoultly healthy in my opinion. Good Luck.

Actually turkeys are pretty damn smart and very hard to hunt. They are actually quite fast too. Not that anyone cares.

But as far as you having to go with him to hunting camp to cook dinner and what not, well that is fucking retarded. What kind of 9 day vacation is that for you? I'm with everyone else, go to a concert.

I went hunting when i was a kid with my uncle, took us two hours. i wasn't impressed, but maybe he got lucky. :D
  • OMG, I would love to see my wife's reaction if I TOLD her she was going to spend her precious vaca time serving me while I go enjoy my hobby. seriously, it would be comedic gold, whatever she said. i'm sure there would be several F words. what is this, 1950? Or 1800? first of all, there's no need to hunt turkeys - they have plenty of dead ones at the grocery store already skinned and everything. why waste valuable time chasing them around the woods? stupid. do you people not have jobs? who has time for such stupidity? and tell the fucker this:

"I know I was born, and I know that I'll die....the in between is mine."

What a fuckface loser your husband must be. I can only imagine.

    no kidding cliff

not one person here knows (except the OP) what happens in this relationship 51 other weeks a year. After all, it is only turkey hunting and it is only a band, as much as we like them, it is only a band, I am sure some middle ground can be found, just stay calm and talk it out.

And for those judging it, TURKEY HUNTING IS NOT EASY AND IS A FUCKING BLAST!!!

I get it, hunting isn't for everyone, but come one, lets not go overboard here and possibly cause bigger problem for these two than there was going to be.

haha, either you were one hell of a good luck charm or ya'll were hunting on some one's turkey farm  . I'm not a big turkey hunting fan myself. I get very bored sitting in one spot dressed in an outfit that makes you resemble a small tree. My old man, who is retired from the US Fish and Wildlife Service and has been hunting all his life, says hunting the wild turkey is the most challening hunting he's ever done. You can actually end up walking several miles in the woods, and often in the foothills of the mountains. They are very fickle creatures. Paranoid as hell. Their eyesight is amazing. They can run 25mph and fly 55mph! Anyways, ya'll quit dissin' the wild Turkey! It's a pretty badass bird! ;)

Simple solution: you go to the concerts while your husband hunts. Most dudes I know don't want their wives / girlfriends with them anyway when the go of hunting.

Regarding your husband - what a turkey. I'm sure you do enough cleaning and cooking when you are at home. Let him do his own on vacation. I go on vacation to see Pearl Jam all the time without my husband. It is much more fun that way. I went to eight last year and also the year before. Will do at least six this year. There is no wedding vow that says you have to always do stuff together. Assert yourself!

Can you tell him how important this is? And if he still doesn't want to go, can you just do your own thing for these shows?

He doesn't own you. He's hunting turkeys - let him cook 'em himself. Where he does he get off saying you are 'not allowed' to go? You're not his kid. Good luck and I hope you can manage this so you can go.

i cant believe this is 4 pages long...

    thank you my friends!

later i will put "the top 10 ways to get the ok to attend as many pj concerts as you like"

a mere 12 hours later.... i've got the green light for TWO shows! i shouldve been an attorney 8-)

(i would love to do all 5 but we're trying to save $$$ for a greater cause & attending 5 shows in 4 different cities would totally void our savings thus far...so unfortunately even i cant agree to that right now)

PS - if it makes anyone here feel better, hes a horrible hunter & usually just takes the gun for a walk before he falls asleep in the woods  sometimes i wonder why he still goes. in almost 20 years of hunting, he's never got a turkey & only got a deer once.

screw that, if he's that shitty of a hunter, tell him to sell his guns and equipment so you can afford to go do something you're good at - rocking your tits off to pearl jam's live music. go to all 5 shows :)

During a Guitar Center sale one year I bought two BEAUTIFUL guitars, an awesome Taylor 12-string acoustic and sweet Les Paul ... brought 'em home and showed 'em to the wife, "Look at these awesome guitars I just got an incredible deal on!"

"No way, no way ... take one back...."

I'm the very proud owner of a sweet Les Paul now! Just saying, book twice as many shows as you really wanna see!
