There is all kinds of hotels right by Scott Trade...Most of them will be sort of pricey...Actually, when pearl jam played STL on Riot Act tour..The band stayed at the Hyatt the one that is connected to Union Station..

I would check hotwire or priceline...

I've stayed at the Hilton on Olive street about a dozen times for work. It's nice and has a cool bartender named Jane. The Hampton Inn downtown is also nice and has an Irish bar attached. A better location since it's closer to bars and fun, but not as fancy. Be sure to stop by McGurk's in Soulard for food and beer! Their beer garden rocks.

The Union Station Hyatt is now a Marriott and it is very nice. The closest hotel is the Sheraton which is literally right across the street. There is also a Drury, Pear Tree, and Residence Inn right nearby. All of the downtown hotels are very close too.

Just trying to get a rough estimate, how many people are interested in trying to get a group rate?
I know in Memphis we got the Westin for $90? You might do better if you go through priceline or somewhere, but if enough people are interested I will make some calls.

Count me in. I'm willing to help organize or do whatever. I live in Iowa, but I'm a huge Cardinals fan, and with the NCAA wrestling tournament being there basically the past 10 years, I've spent a good portion of my life in St. Louis. See you all in the 'Lou in May! After KC, this will be my 2nd concert ever!

i know i have previously gotten a priceline room for $75 at the Union station hotel. It's mid week so the likely hood of having open rooms is higher.

I think I can prob hook up the "friends & family" rate at the Sheraton which is $99 for a room with 2 queen beds and one queen sofabed... so depending on how many want to bunk together it could work out well. (normal rate is $143)

Thinking of flying in stand-by but the flight gets in at 4:20, hoping that could give me enough time. How far from the airport to the arena area by public transportation if possible or cab cost, anyone?
So, What you Giving ?........ (Thanks Speedy, Alesek, & Arq+friends)

If you are interested in a group rate, please pm me with either the number "1" or "2". The number of beds required. If possible, please do this by Monday night. This being Friday & having no clue as to the amount of rooms that we need, it is a bit tough to work on anything. Monday......after the KC & STL presale, I'll start calling around to the hotels & start talking with their group sells dept. These people are quick with a quote due to they WANT our business. So, expect something on the group rate come next Wednesday or Thursday. When I got the rate for the Westin in Memphis, the negotiation took about a week. Don't worry about there not being any rooms. The Cards are out of town that week & peak tourism time will not have started. I will start with the Sheraton.......since its just across the street.

Staying at the Hilton by the Ballpark. Looks to be 7 or 8 blocks from the venue. Is this a pretty safe area to walk to and from the venue? Doesn't appear to be that far.
