My cousin just heard the same thing - May 13th. Didn't catch the on-sale date, though.

how to start shit on a pj message board:
-pick a date in the near future
-pick a venue in the northeast us
-start a thread with the date you chose as the title
    -write one sentence
    -quote no sources
-make it be your first post

I heard it on the radio.Local dj had just played PJ song at the end of the song he stated that you can catch these guy's at the Verizone center 5-13-10 and then said tickets should go on sale the next couple of weeks(19 assume march)but that part was hard to hear with kids singing as we went to school.Hopefully this is true.Only time will tell.

I am not doubting what you heard..

but it could easily be a venue hold that somehow leaked and the DJ is just citing the leak of the now scrapped spring tour.

This isn't the first time that someone has posted this specific date for a DC show.

Yeah, like the Dallas DJ that blabbed May 7th and the venue.

What I thought as well. But I would not put it past PJ to announce in a week or two a 10 date tour the first two weeks of May.

I've got to think we would have heard of that by now -- the shortest announcement time I remember off the top of my head was about two months prior to the Albany '06 show. But who knows.

"NHL Eastern Conference Semifinals: Washington Capitals vs. TBD - Home Game 4 (Date TBD)" according to the internet. I guess they must be pretty confident that the Caps aren't going all the way this year if they booked PJ.

so if all these rumors hold up to be true, tour starting april 19th in tampa and now a date may 13th in DC, this looks like a pretty extensive east coast tour that would put the guys playing shows over here for possibly a month or longer, im keeping my fingers crossed

Call me naive, but I still think this spring tour is going to happen.

    I do too!!!

Snl and jazzfest lead me to believe they will throw the rest of us a bone

I know if I book Europe now..... The very next day the will announce a us tour, maybe I should take one for the team

i'm with you guys. i really think we'll have dates or at least a "make sure your shit is in order" tweet before the snl performance. 2 months may be short notice, but its definitely enough for the east coast where they do very well.
i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status

i love the enthusiasm and really hope you are correct.

but...i just.....i dont see it happening.
i really think there was a spring tour planned around Jazz Fest and it has since been scrapped. (just like the official NO Jazz Fest press release had said)

PLUS the release of holds at MSG coupled with conflicting dates/venues (PSU/Scranton)....i just think if there REALLY was somethign going on we would have heard more definitive rumors/rumblings then what we have heard.

yeah SNL is the FAILSAFE...if no tweet/heads up either 3 days before or after then its safe to say its officially off

Add me to the list of people who thinks this is going to happen. I am usually pessimistic about these things, but something is giving me optimism this time around. It seems really odd to me that the band would do SNL and then disappear completely from the US. The reason that any band does SNL is to build hype and what's the point in building up some hype only to disappear and play no shows in the months following?

I agree, I never understood that for an albulm they are so proud of, why would they not tour most of North America to promote it?

because target gave them a huge guarantee
they can pick and choose where and when they want to play without worrying about promoting a record
probably chose Europe so they could take their families and get paid in Euros

I would be willing to bet that Target, will never, ever, ever, promote a Pearl Jam album again. For some reason I think Target has 300,000 copies of Backspacer sitting in a warehouse collecting dust.
