Love them, been waiting to see them for a long time but as you said they rarely tour. I think I mentioned to you in another thread how frustrated I get by their lack of touring the one time in the last few years they played anywhere near me I was out of town.
Yes, I do remember you saying that. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) for a new album in the spring/summer and a follow up tour (probably a dozen cities) in the fall/winter.
In the time it has taken for CAKE to record five albums, Pearl Jam has put out ten and toured the world over.

I love Cake! We saw them a couple years ago in Portland OR and it was really one of the best concert experiences I've ever had. Easily in my top 5. It was fun, they sounded great and it was like a friggin party in the venue.
Love this band. I believe they plan on putting out an album this year... but I don't know. Too often I get Carbon Monoxide stuck in my head but can't play it in the car with my kids present. Love Rock-n-Roll lifestyle and have always been a fan of Mastadon Farm. Great Band. Being near Sac. I have had the opportunity to see them a hand full of times. Nice to see them get some love on the board.

I believe they plan on putting out an album this year... but I don't know.
The clever update from their website says, "CAKE is working all weekend to supply songs to angry listeners who threaten to steal our entire new album in one giant gulp unless we stop with the political posts."
The record is done. It's probably been done for a year. There's a new song playing when you go to the site and last spring they played 3 new songs. They love just messing with people.

I saw them for the first time in Lowell, MA last spring and it was fantastic. Along with talking about new material, they said something about re-releasing Fashion Nugget on their own label. I have no problem buying that album again!
Brilliant band.
I wish their vinyl wasn't so hard to come by.
I really wish my little cousin could listen to
all of 'Fashion Nugget' without me having to holler
'Earmuffs!'
Cheers.
'Cause you don't give blood and take it back again.
I've liked them since the mid 90's, but really got into them in the past few years. Only got Comfort Eagle and Fashion Nugget though. Never seen them live, if/when they tour around me I'm gonna try and check them out. I really dig the song "Comfort Eagle" (probably my fav song by them). Of course who could forget their video for Short Skirt/Long Jacket http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5KmB8Laemg

Great band! I don't care how often they put out albums as they as they are all quality, and so far they all have been. Last I heard (a few years ago) is that the new album they're working on is being recorded entirely with solar power. Maybe that's why it's taking so long.
I saw them once at a free radio station-sponsored festival in Boston and they were able to get an otherwise lazy crowd moving.
I saw them for the first time in Lowell, MA last spring and it was fantastic.
Me too. It was fantastic. We were 6th row. So pissed I didn't win the tree. Also, how awesome was the bar in the lobby of that place? I was drinkin' Cape Codders the whole show.

Hell yeah, I absolutely love Cake. And I'm also dying to hear some new material / see them live some time.

Any band with a horn section is on my list. I have a thing for horns...take that where you may.
+1 here. Love the horn sections!!!
I'm actually making a "horny mix" ::cough cough:: right now.
I'll PM you the track listing when I'm done.
