The NL just got better - the Giants will have much stiffer competition. The even year thing tanks starting next season.

Be expecting another signing/acquisition after the holidays. Evans hinted yesterday while everyone has us tapped out financially it is not true. It will not be Upton or Cespedes but could be more than likely via trade. Ozuna is up for trade from Miami as is CarGo from Col. We have some prospects to burn.

That Shark signing looks much better after the Leake signing. I would rather have Shark at 90mil than Leake at 80.

Giants are very much in play for one of the outfielders. Evans stated yesterday expect a signing or trade in 10 to 14 days. They need a few guys to sign with the more desperate teams to take some options off the table. I'm thinking it will probably either be a smaller signing (Fowler) or Gordon. Both Cespedes and Upton are looking for 6 or 7 year deals. AAV doesn't seem to be an issue. Years is the problem.

I think he'll stay. The Giants will give him some offer out of loyalty.....I'm not sure he'll get any others.

Giants sign Dernard Spahn to a 3 year deal worth a little over 30 million. He will play LF next season and take over in center for Pagan in 2017 or this year should Pagan get hurt again. I like it as we don't need a long deal for someone.

Pitchers and Catchers report later this week. I am excited for this one. Cain says he is back and all the injured guys say they are at 100% to start spring training.

Pitchers and catchers report today! Most are already here working with Rags but the rest will come to town. I will have to shoot by the facility on my way home for fun to see all the Lambos and other super expensive cars in the lot.

I am with you on Cain. We will have Helton in the pen to fill in though. Plus Blackburn is really ready for the majors (he lead his minor league in ERA last season). Beede was a college draft pick 2 years ago and should be ready by the tail end of the year as well. We can go 8 deep with starters so if Cain goes down I think we are fine. Pence was an iron man before last season with all the injuries starting with a fluke hit by a pitch. I think he will be fine. I kind of hope Pagan gets hurt. Bochy still loves his vets and will play him. I would rather we give Parker or Mac Williamson a chance to start as we need some youth in the outfield. We kept all our prospects this offseason so if worse comes to worse they can trade for an impending FA like Encarnacion after the all star break. We have a big time prospect in Arroyo that is blocked by all 3 infield spots he could play with other younger players. There is talk they could move him to the OF but I see him getting traded for something later. Arroyo is only 20 so there is time.

Pagan was worth negative 1.8 WAR last season and he only plaid a small portion of it. He is done in my opinion. All these injuries have caught up to him. I hope he is back to the old Pagan because when he is on and batting at the top of the order our offense is much better than without him.
