Ditto the optimistic Giants fan thing. My husband, huge Giants fan, finally got to see the Giants in a World Series game - which game? Game 3 in 1989. Yes, the earthquake game.

Wow, they might actually blow this thing. It all comes down to Sunday now. If Atlanta loses tomorrow morning we could be looking at the lamest finish in pennant race history. If San Diego were to beat us in that scenario we'd still get in as a Wild Card. San Diego would be NL West champs based on head to head record. So both clubhouses would be celebrating playoff berths. The Giants celebration being probably the lamest in baseball history. Honestly I almost hope Atlanta wins tomorrow morning. If we get in after losing 3 straight to the Pads I'd be too embarrassed to even watch us get destroyed by Philly. The thought of our lame fans wearing their Wild Card gear with pride makes my stomach hurt.

Ouch. This pales in comparison, but the last 3 Phillies WS Game 3's were all rain delayed. And I've been to 3 Game 4's, 2 of which were incredibly heart-breaking losses by name that-year's tortured closer.

I found this really funny. I hope the Phillies lose and Padres win, and we can watch 2 days of do-or-die playoffs. Honestly, the Giants are the only NL team that anyone in Philly is worried about.

It's a little too early for this kind of negativity. The Giants have had a great year, and the last two games have been carbon copies of EVERY single game the Giants and Pads have played this year. Very tight, superb bullpen by both clubs, and going down to the last at bat every single game.

Even if the Pads win tomorrow (God forbid), we have the two time Cy Young award winner waiting in the wings for a play-in game on Monday, or a Game 1 in Philly depending on the Braves result. The only thing I learned from today's game is that Barry Zito will not be starting a playoff game. This was his shot at getting in the good graces with the fan base, and he screwed it up like only Zito can. Cain's start on Friday was a fluke. The guy is an absolute stud. He'll be ready for the playoffs.

DON'T GIVE UP ON THIS TEAM! LET'S GET IT DONE TOMORROW!

Oh, and lame Giants fans? Give me a break. Were you watching the last two games? AT&T hasn't rocked that hard since the '02 World Series. Giants fans are some of the best in baseball.

When I talk about our lame fans I'm referring to the group of our fan base that's essentially a bunch of sheep. The ones that wore their Bonds 756 shirts with pride and kept supporting a truly awful product between 05-08. The wearing of the stupid Panda costumes is also pretty damn lame. People got way ahead of themselves on this guy. If Panda had shown some commitment this season instead of becoming a fat joke we wouldn't be having this discussion. He's literally cost of 10 games between his lack of range/brains at 3rd and his total lack of discipline at the plate. Yet the fans stand up and cheer every time he gets to the plate like he's some kind of superstar.

As for today I think Sanchez will get it done. Plus Latos has been awful lately. If we can get to him early he'll meltdown, the guy is one of the most immature players in baseball.

I still think the rotation swap was a horrible mistake though. Timmy should have opened Friday night, then Cain and Sanchez. Zito would have thrown Thursday vs AZ and MadBum on Wednesday. Instead we have this defeatist attitude of saving Timmy for a one game playoff and it's completely backfired to this point. Even if Zito had lost on Thursday the magic number would have been 2 going into Friday night, meaning that one miserable win would have done it. It's simple math, this weekends games being worth 2 points and the AZ games worth 1. Why would you not throw your best guy on the 2 point game? You don't save your best pitcher for a game that can only happen if you choke away 3 other ones. It's not playing to win.

Awesome way to finish this thing off! Sanchez came through today, especially with the bat, that triple was a HUGE hit! For those wondering about Bridge School and possible World Series timing it's not going to happen. Because MLB likes to play games in November the NLCS will be going on during the weekend of Bridge. Game 6 is Saturday & Game 7 on Sunday. I'm sure a lot of us will have our transistor radios going in between sets if the Giants are still playing. Here's the schedule for the NLCS, go Giants!

Good luck guys. I think it'll be a fun series. I have trouble seeing the Giants winning four games over the Phils when they can't score against even mediocre pitching. I mean, Joe Blanton will probably pitch 7 and give up 2 against that offense. But, a few bounces the wrong way, and we could be watching Hamels vs. Sanchez in Game 7.

Plenty of trash talking coming up!
