Palin's's comment on off and on shore oil drilling...

Extreme Enviros: Drill, Baby, Drill in ANWR – Now Do You Get It?

This is a message to extreme “environmentalists” who hypocritically protest domestic energy production offshore and onshore. There is nothing “clean and green” about your efforts. Look, here’s the deal: when you lock up our land, you outsource jobs and opportunity away from America and into foreign countries that are making us beholden to them. Some of these countries don’t like America. Some of these countries don’t care for planet earth like we do – as evidenced by our stricter environmental standards.

With your nonsensical efforts to lock up safer drilling areas, all you’re doing is outsourcing energy development, which makes us more controlled by foreign countries, less safe, and less prosperous on a dirtier planet. Your hypocrisy is showing. You’re not preventing environmental hazards; you’re outsourcing them and making drilling more dangerous.

Extreme deep water drilling is not the preferred choice to meet our country’s energy needs, but your protests and lawsuits and lies about onshore and shallow water drilling have locked up safer areas. It’s catching up with you. The tragic, unprecedented deep water Gulf oil spill proves it.

We need permission to drill in safer areas, including the uninhabited arctic land of ANWR. It takes just a tiny footprint – equivalent to the size of LA’s airport – to tap America’s rich and plentiful oil and gas up north. ANWR’s drilling footprint is like a postage stamp on a football field.

Radical environmentalists: you are damaging the planet with your efforts to lock up safer drilling areas. There’s nothing clean and green about your misguided, nonsensical radicalism, and Americans are on to you as we question your true motives.

people might actually be waking up in this country, finally...

Sarah Palin's Unfavorability Numbers Hit New High, Survey Finds
    http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/11/12 ... vey-finds/

The number of Americans viewing Sarah Palin unfavorably has hit the highest point since she burst onto the national stage over two years ago, according to a poll out Friday.

The Gallup survey conducted in the days after the Nov. 2 election found more than half of Americans -- 52 percent -- hold a negative opinion of the former Alaska governor. Only 40 percent viewed her favorably, which ties her lowest score from about a year ago.

Palin, the GOP's vice presidential candidate in 2008, is among Republican names being floated as a possible presidential pick in two years time. The poll found she might have a good chance of capturing the nomination: fully 80 percent of Republicans have a positive opinion of her.

She might have a harder time in the general election. Gallup found 81 percent of Democrats and 53 percent of independents viewed her unfavorably -- while fewer than four in 10 view her favorably.

here is the full poll report...

The inner circle of Sarah Palin’s political organization is notoriously difficult to crack, but in an over-7500-word piece in the New York Times Magazine posted online Wednesday, Robert Draper offers a rare glimpse into Palin-land – as well as buzzy quotes from an hour-long interview with the former Alaska gov.

In the key excerpt ricocheting around the media today, Palin gives a clear indication that she is seriously mulling a 2012 run:

“I am,” Sarah Palin told me the next day when I asked her if she was already weighing a run for president. “I’m engaged in the internal deliberations candidly, and having that discussion with my family, because my family is the most important consideration here.” Palin went on to say that there weren’t meaningful differences in policy among the field of G.O.P. hopefuls “but that in fact there’s more to the presidency than that” and that her decision would involve evaluating whether she could bring unique qualities to the table.

Palin told Draper that, if she chooses to run, she would “have to bring in more people – more people who are trustworthy.” She also defended her frequent avoidance of national reporters, criticizing the “elite” media for focusing on her personal life and “distractions” while "warping" her record. She says:

“I know that a hurdle I would have to cross, that some other potential candidates wouldn’t have to cross right out of the chute, is proving my record. That’s the most frustrating thing for me — the warped and perverted description of my record and what I’ve accomplished over the last two decades. It’s been much more perplexing to me than where the lamestream media has wanted to go about my personal life. And other candidates haven’t faced these criticisms the way I have.”

In fact this could be true. ANYTHING is possible in this country....back in 2003 if somebody said someone named Barack H. Obama will be President in 5 years you'd be thought of as crazy. I don't think it's impossible for her to do the same.

Even though she was a quitter, all that's needed is a governmental lapse that can be blamed/traced back to President Obama. For instance another attack on the land and boom she's your man...oopps check that....she's your woman for President in 2012. I don't cherish the thought. :(

Oh I asked a republican supporter(who tried desperately to have me follow repub ticket in the midterm election) about Palin and her leaving her office and she said......"If the media would only leave her family alone she would've stayed in office". All I could say was but she craves media attention and making money from it.

Asked if she is considering a run for president, Palin told The Times, "I am. I'm engaged in the internal deliberations candidly, and having that discussion with my family, because my family is the most important consideration here." She's been toying with this answer for a while now, but this was perhaps her most direct response.

the best thing that can happen for dems in 2012 is for her to run. the gop will NOT support her as their nominee and she'll take votes away from them. I like to think of her as a ralph nader but without knowledge, respect, dignity, common sense, and with a shitload more money.

this is not a joke ... far from it ...

and no, it's not because she is hot ... seriously, she is NOT hot ... don't let makeup and some air brushing fool ya ...

in any case - she can win because of 3 essential things:

      1. the voting system - because of the electoral colleges, she only has to win x number of states ... she could theoretically get 35% of the popular vote and still win ...
      2. an ignorant voter base - most people continue to vote strictly on the letter next to the name ... partisanship and the feeling that is the only option has killed democracy in the USA
      3. the power of media and PR ... hopefully, you will get a chance to read the book i suggested in the other thread for you ... in any case, this radical right as i call them are very savvy ... their smear campaigns and negative ads as well as their willingness to lie makes them a very powerful especially considering point 2 above ... also, the indoctrination of right wing myths is perpetuated across the country through right wing pundits, right wing op-ed web sites and blogs, these guys take the play book and they run with it everywhere ... take global warming for instance ... having studied the science - i guarantee you that it is real and that in reality it is not very hard to prove ... yet, half of americans don't believe in it ... with the majority of those people voting republican ... and that is again because of their ability to work on their base through aggressive PR mechanisms ... there was a board member here all the time that used to post link after link denying global warming and in each time it was proven to be published by someone linked to a right wing think tank that is funded by big oil ... yet, no matter how many other links anyone else would post, he would continue to post these pieces that had no substance ... that is what i'm talking about - he has been indoctrined and that goes for a whole whack of people ...

so, yes, she can most definitely win ... heck, look at her daughter on that show ... she is the worst dancer but yet she's in the finals ... same thing for her mother ... worst candidate ever and she could be president ...

I just read a article on fox about her....I joke and say she's hot and as far as most female politicians go she ain't so bad..but the bottom line is if we voted today I could not vote for her (gut feeling), it's like the Godfather movie when Michael says "I need a war time congsiadi"(spelling ?) I don't think war is always the answer but if it is present while she was president I think we would be in a world of poo poo as far as her policy's and political views go I don't know anything about hers,as I said lots of home work.

NO matter what you think of her as a political leader...she is a master at using the media and manipulating the media in order to gain exposure.

She's also very good at using her face time to appeal to Joe Public in a lot of ways. I know many think she is stupid but either she is or whoever is running the show is absolutely brilliant in this regard.

she manipulates the media because the media pays attention to her. the media goes where the ratings are.

why would anyone want a stupid leader after 8 years of w?

no she is actually pretty stupid...

and with her kids posting that stuff on twitter or facebook or whatever and her home life a trainwreck, how can she be a serious contender at all? imagine what would have happened if malia and sasha obama called people "faggots" on facebook posts during the campaign...

she quit as governor and that in my opinion makes her unelectable.
