Sarah Palin's Sarah PAC Spent $63,000 On Copies Of 'Going Rogue'
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/0 ... 44656.html
Sarah PAC, Sarah Palin's political action committee, raised more than $1.4 million in the second-half of 2009, according to the Washington Post's Chris Cillizza. That figure brings the group's fundraising haul to $2.1 million for 2009. Cillizza reports:
...Sarah PAC and ended the year with $900,000 in the bank. She donated $64,600 to candidates and party committees.
That relatively high burn rate is due to an expansion of the organization's staff, according to those familiar with its operations. (Remember that with Palin out of office -- she resigned the governorship in July 2009 -- her PAC is her only political and policy vehicle.)
Beyond new staff and donations, what else is Sarah PAC spending money on? Books -- her own book -- according to ABC News:
The former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate had her political organization spend more than $63,000 on what her reports describe as "books for fundraising donor fulfillment." The payments went to Harper Collins, her publisher, and in some instances to HSP Direct, a Virginia-based direct mail fundraising firm that serves a number of well-known conservative politicians and pundits.
Sarah PAC spent another $8,000 on colorful bookmarks designed by a Nashville-based event branding firm. And her committee paid her publisher $20,000 for what appears to have been the cost of sending her personal photographer and another aide along on her book tour.
Hotline offers a more detailed breakdown of the former governor's expenditures.
How many copies of "Going Rogue" would $63,000 buy? It depends. Without knowing how much sales tax was paid on the books or if the former governor bought them at a bulk rate, Palin's group could have bought anywhere from 2,173 (at suggested full retail price of $28.99) to 4,666 copies (at a steeply discounted Amazon rate of $13.50).

Palin: Rahm Emanuel should be axed for 'retarded' comment
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/politics/p ... Fe08K5N9JO
Former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin posted a note on her Facebook page late Monday calling for President Obama to fire his Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel for comments he made that she said were offensive to children with developmental disabilities.
In the Facebook posting entitled “Are You Capable of Decency, Rahm Emanuel?,” Palin called for his firing for comments attributed to him in a Jan. 26 Wall Street Journal article where he called plans by liberal groups to run ads against moderate Democrats "F—ing retarded."
“I would ask the president to show decency in this process by eliminating one member of that inner circle, Mr. Rahm Emanuel, and not allow Rahm’s continued indecent tactics to cloud efforts,” Palin said in the posting.
“Just as we’d be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the “N-word” or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking,” the post continued.
Emanuel has reportedly apologized for his remark. Politico’s Ben Smith reported Tuesday that Emanuel called Tim Shriver, Chairman and CEO of the Special Olympics last Wednesday and apologized for his comment.
"Rahm called Tim Shriver Wednesday to apologize and the apology was accepted," a White House official told Politico, adding, “the White House remains committed to addressing the concerns and needs of Americans living with disabilities and recognizes that derogatory remarks demean us all.”
The apology was first reported by online news oganization Disability Scoop last week.
Palin, whose youngest son Trig has Down syndrome, brought up the issue of children with special needs frequently on the campaign trail in 2008. In her speech to the Republican National Convention in St. Paul-Minneapolis, Palin promised families of special needs children that they would have a friend and advocate in the White House if her ticket was elected.
Emanuel apologized later today to Special Olympics chairman Tim Shriver for using the word.

"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
The first website...thealaskatrustfund.com...did you see it? Laughable!! Everyone should check that out... We all need to donate to her fund in order for her to defend herself from political and family attacks...
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."

Fuck this lady....please go away.
She could always move to Louisiana - a state with a proud history of turning a blind eye to ethics violations. It was reported last month that a number of state politicians broke the law by spending campaign donation money on LSU football tickets, apartments, furniture for their apartments (they already get a stipend to pay for an apartment in Baton Rouge), and in some cases just gave the money to their friends to fund their senate campaigns. And nothing happened to them. So, Palin would always be welcome down here - just as long as she isn't hiding cash in her freezer (that's apparently the tipping point here - if you spend the cash on LSU football tickets you're okay, but if you hide it in your freezer you'll go to jail).
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
Palin, Palin, Palin, what a fu-kin hypocrite claiming to outraged about someone else using the word 'retarded'.
--A grandmother who has who refers to her grandchild as 'RETARDED
--A grandmother who preferred her grandson be a bastard than to have her daughter get married because she thought she was going to be vice president
--A grandmother who after losing a political election claimed her grandson was a product of rape
Palin's a fu-kin hypocrite, who parades her grandson around like a symbol of retardation (not a child with a disability) just to gather donations for her own personal benefit and for her own political agenda.
A friend of mine set me a Hustler video with an "actress" that was made up to look like Ms. Palin.
Pretty good stuff I might add!
but i may have just found the one thing i agree with him on.
and Sarah, go away. please.
And I suppose you have heard Sarah Palin say this stuff....Right?
And what is her political agenda?
im not perfect but i would never refer to my down's syndrome child as "my retard baby"...don't take our words for it, google it, it is well documented from people inside her inner circle....
chris matthews is a moron. pure and simple. he says stupid things all the time. he apoligized, obama forgave him, so am i supposed to start some crusade to get him fired?? he may have forgotten obama is a black man for an hour, but i guaranfuckintee those republicans that were sitting on their hands when they should have been standing and applauding did not forget he was a black man for one second...so what is your point??????
liberal blindness...lol....what do you call it when you tea partiers are thinking you are doing something good for the country...
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
you'd think if she were serious about running for president and winning, she would be thinking about how to expand her support beyond the Republican party core that is fed by Fox News.
although i guess working there, she doesn't need to form a coherent sentence. she just needs to smile that purdy mowth and say 'you got that right".
i just have one request for you Sarah. can Katie Couric be one of your special guests? that would be all kinds of awesome.
a. you don't care about the topic
b. you do not care enough to click on the links provided
c. you are in here calling liberals names
and
d. even if people presented you with credible information you "would have to hear it to believe that she called trig her retard child"...
sounds like you are about to get off on baiting all of us to lash out at you...which is not going to happen...
go ahead and google it and see for yourself....
oh wait, you don't care about the topic at hand, i forgot....
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
Im starting to think this is a chat room on National Enquires web site.
Get a life people and stop hatin so much.
Looks like Sarah Palin's sheep herd up easier than Obama's.
right, because she is ever so credible, right? at least she's not ranting on about death panels any more
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama
when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'
Then why are you here?
Oh, and fuck Sarah Palin, she is a moron.
i forgot you have such an affinity for palin...but if you can debunk it or refute it, then by all means go ahead....if not, keep reading your copy of going rogue because i am sure it is not in there.
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
Levi doesn't have to lie to make a buck unlike someone else, I am sure he has plenty of ammo from living with them.
Records: Palin cabins not noted in tax assessments
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100205/ap_ ... erty_taxes
By RACHEL D'ORO, Associated Press Writer Rachel D'oro, Associated Press Writer – 1 hr 27 mins ago
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Records show that Sarah Palin hasn't paid any property taxes on cabins that have been built on two backcountry plots partially owned by the former Alaska governor.
There are no tax assessments for the two-story, house-sized cabins, a workshop and a sauna spotted Thursday in an aerial survey. Property taxes totaling $156.13 were paid on the land in 2009 — but that bill did not include anything for the structures because the local assessor didn't know about the new construction nearly 100 miles north of Anchorage.
The issue has attracted the attention of local tax officials who conducted the scheduled aerial survey of properties in the area on Thursday. The area is accessible only by floatplane, snowmobile or four-wheeler.
Dave Dunivan, the assessor for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, said such a survey had not been done there in five years, before construction started on the cabins.
Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, said it is not the responsibility of property owners to report structures that go up on their land.
"It is the borough's job," he said in an e-mail. "The property taxes on this parcel are fully paid and have never been delinquent."
Dunivan, however, said owners are required by state law to report any omissions or errors in their tax assessments. Often, the borough learns of new structures in remote areas when neighbors report them. Dunivan said no one has called the borough on the Palin lots, among many in the region to add structures, the flyover survey found.
"Typically, if there are errors, we hear from owners," he said. "If there are omissions, we don't. Every once in a while we do have someone call us about omissions, but not often."
The properties are located along Safari Lake — an undeveloped area located near Denali State Park — and owned by Palin, her husband Todd and a family friend, Scott Richter. According to borough records, the tax assessments are sent to Richter's post office box in Big Lake.
There is no phone listing in Alaska for Richter and he could not be reached Thursday.
The matter first appeared Wednesday on an Alaska political blog site, Mudflats, which has been critical of Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate. Palin resigned as governor last summer and has since written a best-selling memoir. She signed on as a Fox News commentator last month.
"This is another blatant attempt to manufacture a story about the Palins following more defamatory swipes," Palin's spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.
Dunivan said a photo of a large cabin posted on the Mudflats site — and later reported on the Huffington Post Web site — is one of the structures spotted in the flyover.
Van Flein said work is still being done on the cabins, but both are usable. He said construction began on one of the cabins in 2006, but he didn't know when construction started on the second one.
The two parcels of land, separated by one lot, total 25 acres and had a combined value of $30,000 in 2007 through 2009, according to assessment records. Dunivan said the data collected in Thursday's survey will be calculated into 2010 assessment notices being mailed out at the end of the month.
It's too soon to estimate how much the structures will increase the taxes due, Dunivan said.
The cabins are the size of large homes rather than the average backcountry cabin, but square footage estimates were not immediately available.
Local real estate broker, Claus Steigler, said most cabins in the area are closer to the 500-square-foot range. Because they are in a hard to reach area, they generally sell for only $40,000 to $60,000, including the land.
One large log cabin reachable by road is listed at $229,000, but it's still on the market after two years, Steigler said.
this whole thing is shady...every year i get a new property tax disclosure form i have to fill out, any new car, motor home, boat, farm animal, home, property, or building i own on january 1 of every year has to be reported...evidently palin can't be bothered with this...and if she was a responsible citizen she would have cleared it with the county before she even began the construction. in my city you can't build anything on your property without permission.

Why hasn't Palin complained over Republicans' use of the word 'retarded'?
Aman Batheja - Fort Worth Star-Telegram
FORT WORTH — The flap between Sarah Palin and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel over his use of the word "retarded" has spilled over into the Texas governor's race.
Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison's campaign has not been shy in recent days about letting media outlets know that Gov. Rick Perry's political consultant, David Carney, repeatedly used the word "retarded" in a conference call with Dallas television station KERA in advance of last month's television debate.
The incident, which the Perry campaign has confirmed, didn't get much attention.
But with Palin scheduled to campaign for Perry at a Houston-area rally on Sunday, news outlets are devoting time and energy to whether Palin is only offended when Democrats use the word inappropriately.
"It was an unfortunate choice of words and the Governor is extremely disappointed," campaign spokesman Mark Miner said.
Politico reported Thursday that rocker Ted Nugent has also used the word "retarded" in a way some might find offensive. Nugent is scheduled to play the national anthem at Sunday's Perry/Palin event.

Tax cheat ? Did you ever think that maybe they might be waiting unti the construction was finished before they submitted anything. Who knows... Did you ever think maybe you might want to hear the Palin's side of the story.Of course not. Why the hell would you want to do that ?
This lady is delusional, inccapable of telling the truth, has no sense of reality and lives in her own world.
Don't you think you're comparing apples with oranges ? But good god man who cares ?? I wouldn't support Palin anyway, but Im not a Palin Hater either. Shouldn't we be more worried about other things ?
she was the governor of the state for shit's sake. she should KNOW better. if private citizens every day report their taxable possessions, she OF ALL PEOPLE should have known to do so....
no i really don't care to hear her side of the story because its going to be a bunch of lies and shrugged off as "political attacks" anyway...
you don't support her yet you go to great lengths to defend her...she has her own fund raising system to defend herself from accusations, so she does not need you to defend her.
by the way, how is that refuting the "retard baby" claim going?
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
You kidding with the statement in your signature? One word has a massive place in the history of the United States, the civil rights movement, segregation, etc., the other is a phrase for someone who compares Obama to Hitler. A little perspective would go a long way.
