Just met the band @ Bullmoose in Portland, Maine tonight! SSPU is one of my favorite bands and I can't believe I had a chance to meet them. I brought Pikul (vinyl), Swoon and Carnavas cd's to be signed, plus had my picture taken with the band. Carnavas is one of the albums that inspired me to listen more to new music and try discovering new artists. The band was real nice and joking around with all the fans. I love the stuff that Bullmoose is doing to connect fans with their favorite music artists. Earlier this year, I saw Wilco play an acoustic set at another store Bullmoose location (right next to band!). Good stuff!

^Yeah, I'm hoping to land some nice tickets on Monday, but they usually end up going to season ticket holders regardless.

is it a seated show? the one near me, in philly, is outdoors GA. I'm kinda tempted to go to this. Only problem is i'm not really a Third Eye Blind fan

Sweet. I love SSP and I actually like Third Eye Blind. The Blue album is one of my personal favorites.

Yeah, Pine Knob/DTE is a seated amphitheatre with GA lawn. Sometimes they take out the seats in the very front for a small GA pit section, but it doesn't look like they're doing that for this show. I remember EV had some rather colorful things to say about the season ticket holders the last time they played this venue (2003?) - it's usually notoriously hard to get really good seats as a result unless you play the waiting game.

new album, Widow's Weeds, came out yesterday.  Listening to it now, pretty solid IMO.

Got my colored vinyl from their shop.  Very nice packaging and I got one of the signed ones.  Album is good but not as good as Better Nature.

saw them last night in philly, really good show. Fun/energetic. Fans were into them. Played for like an hour and 45 minutes.
