Yeah, I like em! Kinda got the first album by mistake, but absolutely love Swoon.

Really interesting band. They've got obvious influences that come out in their music, but they still maintain some individuality somehow.

Saw them play last July in a tiny venue, sounded great.

I'll always keep an eye on what they're up to.

I never knew him then but I did go to the same high school as the drummer for 10th grade back in the 1990-1991 school year in Pasadena, CA (La Salle HS). Small world.

    Wow!

Was pretty impressed with Silversun Pickups during my nap at Outside Lands last August, just kickin' it behind the production tent pacing myself for the rest of the night .... I finally picked up Swoon yesterday and have been listening to it in the car. First off, again, WOW! Amazing production -- amazing -- big rich thick soundscape, awesome bass and synth sounds, drums have a nice voice, guitar is kinda funny, not my fav guitar sound (swear I can make the same noises outta my Digitech RP7 Valve unit direct in!) But his voice is really amazing, very hypnotic.

I just can't believe my ears, this mix is so awesome! Can't think of another album right now with the lushness of mix this bad boy has.

So I've just kept listening to it over and over -- no clue what track I'm listening to, but the whole thing is just rockin', even the softer stuff. That's the stamp of approval, that I just keep listening to the whole CD over and over and over! Very melodic, even though the guitar sound is not my fav, the playin and the fullness of the guitar at times is killer.

Man, makes me just reflect on how awesome Day 1 of Outside Lands really was -- been hooked on Built to Spill since that day, knew I'd pick up Swoon eventually, Incubus was fun to finally see live, and a great compact but full-throttled PJ set -- a fine final show for the ol' Waves backdrop?

  • sorry can't stand the vocals

  • Yeah love them. saw them open for Placebo in December and they blew me away

Dude, me too! I was to the right of the stage (facing the stage) and watched that drummer for quite possibly their entire set. Home boy don't mess around on the skins.

Like this band a lot. Once I got home from Outside Lands I quickly purchased their music and haven't been let down.

I'm seeing them with Muse myself, at the Wachovia Center. I don't know whether I'm more pumped for Muse or SSPU, to tell the truth.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

Yeah - I can't wait either. I'm going with a bunch of friends (the guys who introduced me to Muse), and we're all huge fans of them. Besides me though, only one of us likes SSPU, so we're getting the chance to introduce the rest of the group to 'em.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!
