nobody is crying here. of this entire thread, most of us think the film maker and his associates went too far with what they wee trying to do and they broke the law. i want these guys prosecuted for what they did. yet you defend them, and then as usual you bring obama into it. it seems like your whole intent is to derail the thread instead of talking about the substance of it. these guys broke the law. they had an agenda. this is the same thing as what the watergate burglars did, except that this was the office of a united states senator and not just the democratic party headquarters and it was in broad daylight instead of actually breaking into the office after hours...

if you want a senator's phones tapped, petition the professionals, the FBI, who can do it legally with a court order, instead of some hack film crew.

I watched Fox News last night and I didn't hear them say anything about this illegal attempted break in. What is sad about this is that Fox News had this guy on a pedestal just a few months ago and now that he has fallen on his face with this alleged crime they fail to plaster it on their so called news station. Like I said if they had been successful in finding something on this Senator THAT would've been their lead story Yet they claim to be *Fair and Balanced.*

I really am conflicted on this. I think the guy should def be prosecuted, mostly for being the village (people ) idiot….but at the same time…I think if he had uncovered massive corruption, we might be singing his praises. Or wishing there was a liberal equivalent …This is assuming he was looking for political corruption, not personal scandal. Investigative journalism vs tabloid reporting makes a difference in my personal judgment of this.
In a way, I wish there were more journalists willing to take risks to get the truth out. I know two wrongs don’t make a right, but in this atmosphere of media complicity in all govt actions, with our liberties being increasingly encroached upon by government….maybe a little rogue reporting would level the field a bit.
The guy was using illegal means to turn a profit, so I have a hard time finding sympathy if he is convicted…but I also have difficulty taking a moral stance against what he did. Considering the governments’ ability to do this to us, and our limited ability to hold them accountable for fucking ANYTHING…maybe non-violent vigilante justice is not so heinous? Interesting to consider, anyway.
