Is it just me, or does anyone else find it somewhat humorous that the song is listed as "Faithful" in the 10C PJ song archive when it's in fact titled "Faithfull"?
and while on the subject, according to the 10C PJ song archive, the correct lyric is "Drowned you are, you are, you are a furry thing,..."To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. If you are one of those unhappy people...please call 1-900-IDN-TCAR."
"Me knowing the truth, I can not concur."

I'm coming late to this discussion, but it's one of my most favorite songs, so here goes: first, I always liked it being "furry thing", I thought it was brilliant, I thought it was referring to us as mammals, animals, we lie down close to each other at night and keep each other warm, stay faithfull and faithful and take care of each other. Although reading this thread I guess I was just on my own little planet with that... Two, I completely agree with whoever said that the cool thing is that it means something new each time you hear it, it means different things to different people, it's the best that you can hear different things in it, I always thought that was what art was all about.0

Galopolous is a good book. But I think that more of it's influence is in Big Wave...The band made it a point to say that they all read Ismael while recording Yield and didnt' seem to mention the KV book....
I am just so glad that I read most of his books before I found out Ed was a huge fan, lest people think I read them ONLY because Ed did/does...be philanthropic0 -

What’s self destruction and how can we last?
"I cannot stop the thought of running in the dark.
Coming up a which way sign. All good truants must decide."

I don't care what lyrics have been inserted into the booklet or how they appear on various lyrics sites. There is absolutely NO way its "a furry thing". It's an awesome play on words:
You are you are everything
and everything is you
There's no way the real lyrics are "furry thing". It makes no sense and would be ridiculously cheesy by PJ's standards, let alone any band's standards. I think "furry thing" was meant as a joke because of how Ed pronounces it. Kind of like "Breakerfall" = "Break Her Fall", etc.
If you take it as "You are everything and everything is you" the whole wordplay makes sense and no-one can convince me otherwise.
Sorry for the rant. It just really bugs me when people insist on the whole "furry thing" lyric.

Furry Thing could be a direct shot at the exact religious concept that he takes aim at in the song.
Evolving from one being to the next.
PBM"We paced ourselves and we didn't rush through it and we tried to be as creative as our collective minds would let us be over some course of time instead of just trying to rush through a record"

Belief in the game controls that keeps us in a box of fear
We never listen
Voice inside so drowned out
Drowned you are, you are, you are a furry thing
And everything is you
Me you, you me, it's all related
To me, this challenges the idea of faith. When you boil it all down, we are all one in the same...in the game scheme of life, it's all relative.

Also, considering that using the word "myth" is a direct reference to the book, it is quite evident that this song is directly related to Ed's interpretation and enjoyment of the book. Furry thing it is.Minneapolis : 06/30/1998 - Chicago : 10/09/2000 - Vancouver : 05/30/2003 - Fargo : 06/15/2003 - Winnipeg : 09/08/2005 - Thunder Bay : 09/09/2005 - St. Paul : 06/26/2006 - Chicago : 08/23/2009 - Chicago : 08/24/20090
