Been hitting 100 degrees for the past couple of days. Today we are having a "cold" front come thru we will only be -- at 94 cool, blistery degrees today.

supposed to be a record breaker today, 93° we were issued an 'excessive heat warning'...at least it will cool off to 87°by tomorrow.

yes. because more normal pnw high temps are 20 degrees cooler...and almost no one has air-conditioning
that said, it looks like they way over estimated todays highs....it's 80 with a good breeze here and just a 3 or 4 degrees warmer in seattle

the realtor at the open house the other day liked to point out that the house had a heat pump and a/c...I said, 'and we'd use the a/c for maybe 3 days out of the year".

altho i have friends that bought a house in olympia. a year after they bought the house the furnace bit it... they got a great deal by getting an ac installed along with the new one...guess it's okay if the cost isn't lots more

In my 4 years in western Washington on the Olympic Peninsula I don't recall it ever hitting 93 and most of you have no AC so I empathize!
Here in El Dorado County, CA, a power sub-station blew out and 50,000 of us were without power for part of the afternoon with temps around 104. The place was turning into an oven but power was restored- for now. More blackouts expected.
