Both my parents have severe alzheimers, so they say the funniest shit everyday.
They have been married for over 60 year and yesterday was asking each other where they came from. And my dad didn't know!
My mom put on a new coat and told me she had it since she was a teen.
My mom said, "Did you know I have a name? I didn't know people had names."
Oh, and everything I wear, she says is hers.
Its "you got to be there" moments. Those are just a few of yesterday's!
I guess I have gotten past how bad it is, and think its funny when they blurt out shit.

I guess a sense of humor can get you through just about anything- shows your strong character though, which I have "seen" here in your writings before.
My memories are my most precious possession. They are like pictures of love in my head.
I fear I may not have them when I need them most, dreaded dementia. But to be old and blissful, delusional even, might be ok.
But when it's time and for one last look I'll have my memories.

Not that, with the GF out of the picture now, my household income dropped by about 60K a year.
there is no way in hell, that i will be able to travel to see them, not for a looooooong time. which sucks.

LOL! We had pizza Saturdays when I was in Public Accounting. I don't miss them anymore, had to get out of tax season.
That was a great night! Some of the best seats I've ever had that night. I hear someday we may even get an official release to relive the memories....
i'm not an accountant, so my 'tax season' is very, short/intense in duration....but i do get to enjoy the perks of the whole group. here's to hoping that weekly mini-massages make a comeback for tax season too.
but hey, pizza fridays, got to love the small things......;)
and yea...thanks to a friend, i was 8th row. awesome night!
