The new singer cannot compare to Layne. The Staley/Cantrell harmony is undeniably the best in rock EVER. But with two original members and the third practically an original, the band has every right to carry on as AIC
and???they will stop making music?they will not try?william is not Layne..so what?...he is William ,a great artist, great on scene and needs respect..i prefer them like this than NO AIC at all
You missed my point entirely
no i didnt,,if u see is your post with another user name..just mixed the edit button,sorry..

Much love for Layne but as it's been stated a number of times already Jerry has ALWAYS been the main contributor to and force behind AIC. To argue any different just highlights an ignorance into the bands dynamics.
I have no issue with them carrying on under the AIC name. If anything they are a shining example of how it can be done, with the upmost of respect the Layne and the fans.

Amen! Life is far too short to be worrying about trivial shit. Yes we all loved Layne, he was an amazing singer and the songs should be kep alive, and I can't think of any better singer than William DuVall to do that, hes' a great singer in his own right.
I think it's important to realise that AIC is kind of a different deal to most bands. Jerry has and always will be the chief songwriter. He wrote the majority of the music and lyrics, and sang on most songs. So when people come on here saying how would you feel if Eddie died and PJ replaced him, it's not really the same thing at all. To some people I guess Layne was the band, but that's kind of a warped view because Jerry's contribution was always much greater.
