I find them boring as well and I've tried to get into them. They have way too many band members and hitting your helmet covered head is not an instrument. Another band who would be nothing without Pitchfork overfluffing them. Everything has gone to their heads.
These last few posts beautifully exemplify what a travesty this board has become. This used to be a place I could come to find at least some intelligent, thoughtful commentary on music and to discover new bands. No longer. Too many band members? Seriously? A band who is madly in love with what it is doing and crowds who feel the same way, so much so that they hum the melody to Rebellion during the entire encore break, boring? Just wow.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

They just said they think they're boring as shit to them; that's why they don't like 'em, no biggie. I bet you the crowd at the nickelback concerts go apeshit during the encore, that doesn't mean they should like their music. And again, just because a band appreciates their fans doesn't mean that you can't find their music boring. Dave Matthews appreciates his fans, i still think his music is boring as shit. Win's voice can be annoying and his wife's voice on lead parts is bad too imo. Don't think they're terrible, just don't deserve all the praise they're getting.

they are getting alot more than praise friend. They were in most cases in the top 2 of nearly every single top albums of the decade list last year at this time.

I find their music boring as in the fact that it does not excite me. I am not knocking their ability or enthusiasm for what they are doing........it just doesn't get me going. A lot of bands have great fan bases, but it doesn't automatically mean that what they are doing on stage is excellent.....Obviously a lot of people dig what they are doing.
I find Dave Matthews Band boring to watch/listen to as well......even though I recognize there is a lot of talent in that band.....
But as far as Arcade Fire goes, I don't really identify with their lyrics, vocals, or stage presence......

This is great news, not only do we get new songs to listen to, I'm also hoping for a tour, I haven't seen them live yet.
I really dig these guys and I had the pleasure of seeing them in Australia when they played the Big Day out in 2008. They where the highlight of the day (excluding RATM- who where BRILLIANT) and they play with such emotion and enthusiasm.
Very lucky again to be seeing them at the BDO next January- the only BDO's I've been too in the last 10 years and only because of RATM playing and PJ next year.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me

My local record store played it tonight at 9. Also sold limited 45's of The Reflector. I guess they only received 10 copies. Also had buttons, stickers, and a poster for free. Since I was the first to buy the 45 they are hooking me up with a t-shirt too, but forgot to give it to me so I'm grabbing it tomorrow
Song is definitely different, much more dancy, but I'm into it
