Testing the waters of kindness here....

At this point, a handful of people have responded and offered to send something. To date, I have not received anything in the mail... but it is very early in the process. If others want to send, please PM me and I will send you my address. The more I get, the more I can share.


The next step in this little experiment is for me to share the love.

If you are interested in receiving copies of everything that I get, please send me a PM. Don't send your address at this point... just a PM stating that you would like to receive the boots. I will randomly pick one person initially, and send them copies of everything I get.

Please know, when I send them, I will not ask for anything in return including shipping costs or anything.... I simply ask that you share the love however you see fit. Whether it's sending a show to someone or multiple shows, or offering to do a B&P to a random person... whatever you see fit. My hope is that they will do the same, and this kindness will spread like a virus and this community turns into more of a community.

If things are successful and the wave spreads, I will then ask for others who are interested and send out a second wave.

If there is one thing that we ALL have in common, it's our affinity with this band and their music. Let's use this as a foundation to build a better community and hopefully a nicer place for all of us.

Hopefully, through my doing this, many will benefit. I have not gotten a single IM from anyone interested in receiving the copies (yet), which is surprising. I thought my PM box would be full by now - but it's only been a few hours since my last post with the offer. We'll see how it plays out.

They also have to play that Pats again. I expect them to get their act together to some degree, but the NFL is very unpredictable this year. With the exception of a very few teams, things are just very bizarro-world.

on the old Riot Act board i spoke with one individual pretty frequently and eventually through conversation she learned that i didn't have a particular bootleg she did.

within a few days the bootleg, along with 6 dvds were on my doorstep.

While the response was not overwhelming, there are many generous people in this community. I graciosuly thank those that have opted to send a boot, as well as those who did not. Some people expressed disdain in this idea, and that is fine, too. I would even invite my toughest critic to PM me if they are interested in a chance to receive copies of all that I receive. I hold no ill feelings and would like to offer this opportunity to anyone who would appreciate it. I truly understand that those that responded in a very negative way did so for a reason that was valid to them, and there is nothing wrong with that.

I am hoping to build a bootleg collection both on DVD and CD. I have some shows, but not a whole lot. My goal is to build a decent collection -- and then use that collection to help others build theirs (by doing B&Ps and trades)

Hey Jack, thanks for checking in. I received a very generous package from one fan... it included several CDs and DVDs. I also got a lot of offers from others, stating that they would send something. To date, no other offers resulted in my receiving anything.

I have also been fortunate enough to get in on some other offers that were made in other threads, so I have a few shows in CD and DVD formats. I have also recently been working with a friend to install the proper software on my computer to be able to duplicate DVDs.

The next step in this deal will be for me to send the entire collection to one lucky person, and then to offer freebies periodocally, B&Ps and trades more frequently, and overall, just spread the love. I did hook someone up with a copy of the Lollapalooza '07 show on DVD recently, but that was a person who is not on this board.

Stay tuned for some offers in the near future!

And for anyone still inclined to do so, I am still open to receiving any kindness coming my way. Like I said, whatever I get within the next short while will all be duplicated and sent to one lucky person - with the hopes that he/she will also use those DVDs and CDs to spread the love.
