I am gonna cook for the girlfriend's family....Prime Rib, mashed potatoes, yorkshire pudding, etc.
Last year, the girlfriend's sister-in-law arrived and announced that she needed the over, so my prime rib didn't come out too great.....bitch best cook in advance this year!
basically
both are versions of Japanese hot pot-Google them-both are great dishes in the winter (and relatively healthy!!)
shabu shabu is a "cook it yourself" type where you cook meats and fish at the table in a broth
nabe is sort of a fish stew where a big pot is brought to the table
my wife is Japanese so, this year, I don't have to do anything except get beer, wine and sake!
believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all!
Going to my brother's for Christmas dinner. We go with beast, smashed potatoes, cheesy carrots. I'll probably be in charge of a pumpkin pie.
Christmas Eve? I'll probably chill on my couch, look at the lights and listen to some Peanuts Christmas.
beast?!!
I know Norm. There's something incredibly sexy about Whiz saying 'Beast'. Call me crazy. But if I had to guess, I'd have to say beef tenderloin. That's how it's defined in our family.
"beast" is beef in my family. I am not sure of the cut but I think it may be prime rib. and I just remembered I have to buy rolls for tomorrow as I got dissed for pumpkin pie duty.
My dad is coming here Saturday. I am making spaghetti & meatballs.....the meatballs are stuffed with pepper jack cheese. mmmmmmmmmm.......Yes, I serve spaghetti/meatballs as a Christmas dinner...serve it on fine china too. I reserve any roast for the Easter lamb.

and a Merry Christmas to you too!
Is this true?????
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
quite true actually.
there isn't a slice of white bread left within 50 mile radius.
oh well, i guess i'll just have to serve Skyline for the Christmas feast.
because nothing says Christmas Day more than a bowl of chili.
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
it's quite the debacle indeed, the repercussions of which
will be felt on a national level, for years to come.
though not the first time there was a great debacle in Cincy, not by a long shot.
I have "The Great Garlic debacle of 2009" going on here....
I Made my marinate last night...Which calls for 3-5 gloves of garlic.....
After emptying the pan over the shrimp...I put the pan in the sink and fill it with water...
Let it sit overnight....
Well....The entire fucking place smells of garlic...
INTENSE smell of garlic....
HOLY FUCKBALLS intense smell of garlic.......
hehehehehe
Ive burned incense....
I have washed out the pan (2,934,483 times)
I have cleaned out the sink (3,934,723 times)
The place still reeks of garlic.....hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
i love the smell of garlic, however it can be very overpowering.
put a little pot on the stove with some water, orange/lemon peels, cinnamon
and simmer it on low for a few hours. and viola! no more garlic smell.
either that or simmer a pot of vinegar for an hour, hopefully that'll do the trick.
Ill just smoke a few bongs....
That will get rid of the smell.....hehehehehe
So I am making my marinate last night...
1lb of butter
Dash of this
dash of that
dash of this
dash of that....
3 TABLESPOONS OF PEPPER????
3 TABLESPOONS?????
I wake up Kathy......are you sure this recipe is correct??????
YES!!!
Are you sure????
YES!!!!
3 TABLESPOONS OF PEPPER???????
YES!!!!!
So lets just say....
I am now making peppered shrimp....hehehehehehehehehehe
There is no fucking way in hell I was supposed to throw in 3 TABLESPOONS of pepper.....hehehehehehehe
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
anything that starts with a pound of butter can't be bad.
that is a hell of a lot of pepper, though not too much for me.
i would imagine it should have been 3 teaspoons.
wow, that's gonna be some spicy damn shrimp.
sounds yummy though, the Christmas bongs i mean
sure to alleviate just about any lingering odors.
it is our potpourri of choice here in Cincy.
3/4 TEASPOON!!!!!!
I bet it was supposed to be 3/4 teaspoon or tablespoon.....
If you made 3 eggs every day for a year.....and put pepper on them......
3 tablespoons of pepper would last you 2 years......hehehehehehehehe
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
damn, how much shrimp are you marinating? 14 pounds? haha
those measurements definitely seem a little off.
3 worcestershire.....
3???
3 what????
3 teaspoons??
3 tablespoons???
3 bottles???
3 cups???
3 Gallons????
hehehehehehehehehehe
I just said fuck it....and threw some worcestershire in there......hehehehehehehehe
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
that's always a good rule of thumb in cooking.
fuck it...just throw it in.
always works for me.
I should have thrown 3 gallons in....
To take away from the pepper.....
hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
why not add a couple of bottles of Tabasco while your at it?
might as well make it a memorable Christmas feast.
spice is nice.
