PJ nominated for a grammy

As Ed said about 15 years ago, it probably doesnt mean anything, but, they were nominated for best rock song for the Fixer. They go up against U2, Green Day, Kings of Leon and Bruce Springsteen.

I would imagine Kings of Leon winning, not because I like their song (I don't), but because its gotten the most top 40 radio play.

Brendan O'Brien was also nominated for Producer of the Year, for his work on the Fixer, among others.

I really thought they might also be included in Rock Album of the year, so that's too bad. But I do have to say, this is probably the only category where I at least can somewhat respect all the nominees.

They're not eligible for Rock Album or Album of the year because the deadline was Aug 31. It used to be September. And Backspacer came out in September.

Oh, well I guess you never know. But I feel like albums that come out at the begining of "year" (grammy year) get forgotten by the time the end of the year rolls around. Hopefully this will be a shitty year for rock, and maybe Just Breathe or the next single will find some success and help them out.

First nomination in the Best Rock Song category since I think Daughter. They've had a lot of nominations in Hard Rock Performance.

i think U2 was eligible at one time for a song at the Grammy's. And then the next GRAMMY'S was eligible for Album. But that would mean PJ having to promote Backspacer all throughout next year. And release more singles. Something I don't think they would do.

Yeah once Rage Against the Machine was nominated for grammys for 'Tire Me' and 'Bulls on Parade' from Evil Empire...and were nominated again the next year for 'People of the Sun' which is also on Evil Empire.

What do you mean it would be funny if they won? I think it's about time they won a grammy again for something! Way to go boys, knock 'em dead at the Grammy's and win another, it would be absolutely awesome and so deserving of the world's best band.
