which concert are you most embarrased to admit you attended?

i saw the post about artists folks have seen more than three times. i didn't submit, but billy joel was on my list (we all make questionable decisions in high school) - and that's not even my most embarrassing! i saw Journey at the worcester centrum ('84?") at the request of my girl hoping to "get some". i got none. instead, i forever have the memory of steve perry in spandex and a white tux jacket with tails. i also sat through a kenny rogers concert with my parents as a kid. there, i said it. thanks. that was very cathartic.

But, just so i can participate in the list I'll say this one: ZZ Top
Don't care for them what so ever. The tickets were free, and I only went to see the Nuge before. My friend however wanted to see ZZ Top so I proceeded to sleep on the blanket that was laid out on the lawn.
I couldn't believe I actually fell asleep at a rock concert...

:?
To the OP, Billy Joel is not embarrasing at all. I think I would go see him just to hear Piano Man. I love that song.
Wasn't a fan of the original Gunners, let alone Axl and the Imposters. Wife scored us complimentary tickets for a corporate box.
Seeing the 80's version of Chicago with Peter Cetera was really bad (and embarrassing) too.
I've seen Neil Diamond a few times, not embarrassed by that at all, although I woudn't be suprised if his name came up on someones list.

No embarassement there, 'cept when he turns into a "rappin' granny" during Red, Red Wine

I hope you realize that Stapp thinks he's Jesus and considers you front rowers to be his disciples. Oh what a sad day this is. You spend years studying the Unified Pearl Theory of Jamming, ya post 5000 times on the message board, ya rock out at some shows in September of 2004 and June 2008....and after all that...you come to find out that you're one of Scott's children that he's been sent to bring everlasting salvation to. I almost want to give you credit for admitting it...but I just can't give credit to anything Creed related. May God have mercy on your soul man!!!

It's not an Ed thing. It's Scott thing. I'd hate that band if I never heard a Pearl Jam record.
I'm just ragging on Drop The Leash 10. But I do need to hear how he ended up first row at Creed. Was he trying to hook up with a girl who likes Creed? Was it an experiment of sorts....to have an opportunity to see the worst rock n roll that's ever been made close up? Or is he really just that big of a hardcore Creed fan?

My friend dragged me along, biggest waste of a couple of hours in my life..Drank alot of beer that night just to get through it haha..
Like you somehow
I couldn't agree more, even before I became a Pearl Jam fan and understood the hatred for Creed, I couldn't stand them...when I first heard "With Arms Wide Open" , it just defined it for me.

Bon Jovi - with a girl on a first date in 1993 or 1994. I got free tickets cause my aunt was dating a producer for KISS 108 in Boston. We both looked at each other and left half way through.
Mariah Carey - A friend of a friend had two comp tickets in 93/94. When he brought it up, no one wanted to go with him. I reluctantly agreed. It was interesting. It was actually just a warm up show before some world tour. It was at the UMass Mullins center, and Mariah was pretty cute and funny and what a voice. I liked it well enough, but I think we left that show before it ended.
Creed - So this wasn't a Creed show, it was Woodstock 99, and me and two buddies drove up in my car. They wanted to get a jump on the crowd and leave early and I wanted to stay for the Chili Peppers and possible special guest. Rumors had been flying around all weekend of course. They took my car home and I ended up hitch hiking home with some strange dude who drove wreckless all over the freeway with the heat pumping on full blast.
Anyway I actually enjoyed the set in a pretty passive way, but was pyched when Robbie Krieger came out and along with Creed played a few DOORS tunes.
My full hatred for what Creed is hadn't developed quite yet at that time.
dad could not put the binoculars down for 1 song of shania twain's show
and um mum and i dig rod stewart
and im also not "embarrassed", cause art is personal, and there's also no time for hate, flamers.
I think I have ALL of you beat. In 1987 or 88 I was a 17 or 18 year old teenager and a buddy called to tell me his brother had 2 extra tickets to see Heart at the Spectrum. Of course being a nerd I had nothing to do that evening and I went. I don't remember much of the night, but it was my first "concert". My name is Bill ... and I'm not afraid to admit I am a dork. LOL ...

Linkin Park with Taproot and Alien Ant Farm- Once again I was like 12.
Sugar Ray twice- My brother makes me see alot of shitty 90s pop acts.
But I'm embarrassed to say that my first concert in 1969 was Three Dog Night and that I also saw Grand Funk Railroad in 71, although it was on a blind date. :shh: :shifty:
The closest thing was Sugar Ray when they opened for 311 about 10 years ago.
