I reckon if they are gonna do a festival they could headline Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park. It's a cool festival and really chilled. Saw Springsteen and DMB there in June it was great.
2006 - Astoria, Dublin, Leeds
2007 - London
2009 - London, Manchester, London
2010 - Dublin, Belfast, London
2011 - Alpine Valley x2
2012 - Isle of Wight, Manchester x2
But I can't imagine them announcing a show that's already sold out. Have they done that with festivals before?
Anyway, I think the plan for Glasto's 40th was to book people who've played at it over the past 40 years.
Now, Electric Picnic, on the other hand... I'd be all for that.
what like U2??
I son hope you are right though, Glasto is the wrong place for Pj and totally the wrong crowd.
The majority of the glasto goers would be more interested in seeing Keane, Franz Ferdinand, and fucking babyshambles than they would PJ
I assumed U2 had palyed Glasto before, but it seems not. I disagree with the "wrong crowd statement" There's 80,000 people at Glastonbury and they're far from a homogenous group of people. You don't think a good number of the tens of thousands who turned out for Neil Young, Bruce and NIck Cave last year wouldn't have passing interest in seeing Pearl Jam? Come on! Pearl Jam at Glastonbury would be amazing. But it's sold out, so I hope they don't do it.

really i think they would have a passing interest but is that really the crowd Pj are looking for.
I would even refer back to leeds 06 - huge crowd, but easily the less enthusiastic crowd of that weekend. The numbers were there but it was definitely not a PJ crowd. Many folk there just were not into them but watched it anyway. A problem with many a festival I guess, especially when tickets are bought not knowing who will perform.
i hope this happen,,ill support this..with me in the show!!
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”

don't care where they are but as long as there are a few shows in the uk and ireland i will be happy.... cos i know i won't be able to afford to go abroad/the mrs would kill me if i did.
The UK shows are great, but it's pretty amazing going abroad to see them and how the other European crowds are, Lisbon was amazing in 2006 would love to go back there.
Glasgow 00, Dublin 06, Lisbon 06, Lisbon 06, Munich 07, London 07, New York 08, New York 08, Manchester 09, London 09, Dublin 10, Belfast 10, London 10, Berlin 10, Manchester 12, Manchester 12, Berlin 12, Berlin 12, Amsterdam 14, Amsterdam 14, Berlin 14, Leeds 14,
I had entered a contest similar to this... and won!!!
I dont remember the exact prize, but something like Dimitris hooking me up with airfare, lodging, transportation, and rail to any/all Euro dates!!!
I am the luckiest girl ever! I look forward to our travels D.!!!
Quality...

It works both ways. I entered (but didn't win :() a competition from play.com to go to the first Seattle show and a competition from Island Records to go to the Sydney show. Both were only open to people from the UK.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?
I'm afraid i might turn into one of those old guys trying to be cool and young still....you know very Ricky gervais in the office.
last year when i was 29 - at least I could do the Rickyesque '20's' reply to anyone asking my age
Well touring with people who arn't at least 5/10 years older than me would be even more of a blast :P
yeah,,i know,,i could be your father!!!

i doubt it, your over the hill (like me) !!!![/quote]
Yer but Satan can back me I hope, he knows I can take the pace with kids. If I can drive the SBE gig and back again (700 miles) doing all in one day plus the gig (standing for what I think was 6 hours in all) I reckon I can keep up. Infact I may just leave them all behind
