but wait... i was told Backspacer is a total masterpiece!!!
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
That list aint to my taste really. A couple would probably make my top 20. Seems like more a fad list but each to his own. A few that should make a top 20:
QOTSA: Songs for The Deaf
Radiohead: Hail to the Thief
Pearl Jam: Riot Act
Coldplay: Parachutes
The Cure: The Cure
Death Cab For Cutie: Plans
Idiot Pilot: Wolves
The Mars Volta: De=Loused in the Comatorium
Nine inch Nails: Year Zero

Glad to see Arcade Fire on there. Funeral is one of my favorite albums.
2003: San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Seattle; 2005: Monterrey; 2006: Chicago 1 & 2, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Detroit; 2008: West Palm Beach, Tampa; 2009: Austin, LA 3 & 4, San Diego; 2010: Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis; 2011: PJ20 1 & 2; 2012: Missoula; 2013: Dallas, Oklahoma City, Seattle; 2014: Tulsa; 2016: Columbia, New York City 1 & 2; 2018: London, Seattle 1 & 2; 2021: Ohana; 2022: Oklahoma City

Hard to believe "Parachutes" came out in the 2000s but, you're right, it did. You've jogged my memory such that I can add two other contenders to the Radiohead and Wilco albums I mentioned yesterday: Coldplay's "X & Y" (yes, I realize I'm the only person who considers this his favorite Coldplay album) and U2's "All That You Can't Leave Behind."

Hrm. And here, I thought "X & Y" was just the 5th Anniversary reissue of Parachutes. You know, since they named their 2nd anniversary reissue "A Rush of Blood to the Head".

I don't get that at all. Coldplay's third and fourth albums don't sound much like their first or second albums.

It's gotta be top ten. Amazing album. Feels like the culmination of a decade's thought.
