  • Love this song and the Avocado album. There's a great live version on the Immagine in Cornice DVD, with the crowd singing along at the end: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClUBNI8H ... re=related

They should've released this as a single - I think it'd have been a monster hit.

  • Come Back & Inside Job - those two together on the ending of any album is unsurpassable. Both amazing, soulful, personal songs.

Even the ending combos of Deep-Release and Leash-Indifference are not quite on that level for me.
we're all going to the same place...

I couldn't agree...there was a time where all I did was listen to Come Back and Inside Job back to back over and over and over and over...
    pure perfection :D
    I miss you alreddie.

Yeah the solo is totally heart-wrenching. I use this song as a tribute to my sis.

One of my favorite PJ tunes...absolutely beautiful.

Its a beautiful song- the lyrics-
I always thought if I lost my husband- they would run constant in my head-
"is the real possibility I may meet you in my dream
and sometimes you're there and you're talking back to me
come the morning I could swear you're next to me
    Its okay"
I would miss him so much I would need him to come back if only in a dream
the lyrics just make you feel it like so many

makes me think of a girl I dated in high school. i'll never forget her. I'm happily married with 2 kids but I still think of her sometimes, which kind of makes me feel guilty, but i do love my wife and wouldn't change my life if given the chance. still, some people get into your heart and they're there for good.

I 100% agree with what you just said...some people come into your life at just the right time to have such a strong impact, that they never leave.

I'm just waiting for him to send me the lyrics and the break up is over.... :(

    Come Back
    Artist: Pearl Jam
    Composer: Eddie Vedder
If I keep holding out,... will the light shine through?
Under this broken roof,... it's only rain that I feel
I've been waiting out the days,... Come Back.

I have been planning out,... All that I'd say to you
Since you slipped away,... Know that I still remain true
I've been wishing out the days,..

Please say, that if you hadn't of gone now
I wouldn't have lost you another way
From wherever you are,.... Come Back.

And these days, they linger on
And I'm the night, as I'm waiting on
The real possibility I may meet you in my dream
    I go to sleep

If I don't fall apart,.... will the memories stay clear
So you had to go,......... and I had to remain here

But the strangest thing to date
    So far away
And yet you feel so close
And I'm not gonna question it any other way

There must be an open door
    For you to
    Come Back

And the days, they linger on
And every night, what I'm waiting for
Is the real possibility I may meet you in my dream

    And sometimes you're there
And you're talking back to me
Come the morning I could swear you're next to me

    And it's okay.

    It's okay.
    It's okay.

    I'll be here
    Come Back
    Come Back

    I'll be here
    Come Back
    Come Back

    I'll be here
    Come Back
    Come Back

He sings "waiting out" in the first verse? I thought it was "wishing out" throughout the song.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

These two songs really make an average record a great record. You are exactly right, it's probably the best combo closer they've ever done. They offer an emotional depth that the rest of the album is lacking, and really set it over the top in my opinion.
