Well, cameras and recording equipment were not allowed at all... I lied to the security guy patting me down and told them it was wallet shoved down the back of my jeans, lol. My friend had her recordable walkman down the leg of her jeans too. Hence, getting drenched with water whenever I dared lift my little point and shoot camera up.

LMAO, I still can't believe they went there! I think the only people at that show were Sydney-siders who drove down! Didn't you go to the Sydney shows in '95? I got as far as on the phone to Qantas to fly to Melbourne, but my friend chickened out on me.

Enjoy the shows... you guys are in for a treat... they're on FIRE!!!

no only canberra in 95 - i actually lived there - big acts always came to town. they just stoped after they played a show and realised what it was like - my only big regret about canberra was not buying a poster, and not grabing a 10c membership after that

i was 23 ... to be honest all i remember from canberra was ed raving on about the newspapers?? or did i dream that?? going nuts to pretty much everything because id been waiting 4 years to see them (got to be a trend, that one), ed being about 100 times more vicious looking than now, and it being really really dark. it is just me, or was the lighting in bruce stadium always shitful???

and no more canberra talk - the perth people will get cranky ;)

Fifth time in Perth and amazing as always. Alot of mutual appreciation going on last night between the band and crowd. Loved Throw your arms around me with Liam, brought back memories of the time they did it with Mark Seymour at Burswood. Under Pressure with Ben a huge highlight, Garden incredible.........it goes on. Very cool Ed getting down in the crowd, just a little too far to the left of us. Thanks for the shout out to the local bands and taking the piss out of Britney. Gold. Now just have to wait again till next time. Thanks Pearl Jam, You Rock as always.

Sounds awesome.. cant wait till Melb

Also interested to hear how difficult it was to get up front on the barrier. Is it a case of lining up ALL day?
Cause theres a massive difference between being front row, and being anywhere behind that.

  • Looks like a good set. Did anyone get to the show early to get up front; how many hours before the show?

Well the '10C' line was about 50 metres long with a half hour till gates open (4:15pm) then with about 5 minutes to go that had doubled! just a quick note I might be exaggerating a little bit...but you get the idea lol ;)

  • Just wondering if it's possible if any fellow PJ fans could answer a few questions about last night. My partner and i are trying to get prepared for Tues night in Adelaide.

When you picked up your tickets how long was it before you were let in?

When you were let in how long was it before the rest of the crowd came in?

Did any of you guys that were let in earlier have any trouble getting to the front?

How did you find the crowd was it as full on as 95 and 98?

Does anyone have an estimate of how many TENclubbers were there?

Did you get your merchandise before or after the show?

Also what time did the PJ get onstage.

Any feedback would be grately appreciated.
    Cheers

I planned on getting to the brisbane show about 4 hours before gates, i should be in the clear yea? I didn't buy my tix through 10c, so i hope that doesn't make a difference. :?

When you picked up your tickets how long was it before you were let in?

it's in the email from tenclub: 10C wristband collection: 2:00pm - 5:00pm at the Clarrie Grimmett Gates. After 5:00pm from the Victor Richardson Gates
Early entry: 4:45pm at the Clarrie Grimmett Gates, off Pennington Terrace.
    Public doors: 5:00pm

When you were let in how long was it before the rest of the crowd came in?

again email as above, but it's 15 minutes

Did any of you guys that were let in earlier have any trouble getting to the front?

no they were all at the front

How did you find the crowd was it as full on as 95 and 98?

wasn't there but reports are it was pretty good

Does anyone have an estimate of how many TENclubbers were there?

    couple hundred at a guess

Did you get your merchandise before or after the show?

some before some after, some things were sold out after, stubbie coolers and some other things i think

Also what time did the PJ get onstage.

My first PJ concert. Best show ever. I'm sorry Bruce, but PJ wins on this one. Great opener; Breakerfall. Didn't see that coming, but I loved the transition into Why Go and Corduroy. Some of my favorite songs were played; Grievance totally caught me off guard, and Red Mosquito with Ben was fucking mindblowing as usual. And how bout Lover Reign O'er Me? That version was totally perfect; Eddie was really pouring his heart out. I'm not really a fan of their big hits, but wow, the 2nd encore really blew me away!!!

too late, you had to buy tix from ten club, but i don't see getting let in 15 minutes early as a massive advantage. people who didn't have ten club tix still got to the front.

no one can really be sure, but the say there was over 100 at perth. you gotta assume the east coast states will attract a bit more, as i know a far few who didn't travel to perth but are doing the other shows, plus general population size being bigger.

    i was told 600 10c at Perth.
  • Awesome setlist. A good mix from different albums.
I just hope they do the same in Sydney.
The 2003 show was pretty much a live version of 'Riot Act', not that it was a shit gig but I would have preferred a bit more variety as i'm sure most people did.
Pearl Jam's one and only concert in Canberra.
