  • WOOT first post

that show was easily the best show i have ever been to in my entire life( thanks squeamish for hooking me up with a ticket) the opening acts of liam finn and ben harper and the relentless7 were phenomenal with the latter the set could have been a separate show in itself it was that good. When eddie came on to sing under pressure with ben the crowd went nuts it was like a bomb went off everyone was screaming for eddie and pearl jam. When they finally came on it was a revelation there were so many highlights why go, small town, amongst the wave and force of nature being tops for me however seeing garden live was freaking insane and completely unexpected. all the bands performances were tops and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. there are concert only shirts with the perth one being a blue shirt on the front having a westcoast eagles logo on it with the word pearl jam in it as shown by the picture 14112009003f.th.jpg and the back having the number 14 in big letters and saying perth underneath.
enjoy the rest of the shows guys they were awesome
  • Ahhhhh that feels GOOD! 1st of 5 aussie shows down and I'm off to a great start.

    Great Job Perth!!!

Big crowd into it early on a Saturday night.

    My Highlights:
    BREAKERFALL opens Rahhhhhhhhhh
    Corduroy....they're flying
Amongst the waves ....sooooo good live
    Pilate!!
    Unthought known....sooooo good live!
    GRIEVANCE Yeahhhhhhhh
    Eddie Nails Reign over me
    WHIPPING
Somewhere in here Paul ANDREWS (TC dude who organised a pre-show meet) holds his 12 year old son up after getting asked by Eddie how old he is (12, on the rail)....The kid is blessed with good musical taste for life CONGRATS young one !!!
    GTF & Betterman were terrific
    THEN...

During Alive Eddie runs down the race, the crowd break security walk though, and stops twice within an arms length of me....video rolling I am content for the rest of my 5 show journey! Magic what 17 years of musical passion can bring out in you.

YL does the trick and leaves the near capacity crowd walking out smiling.....ahhhhhh

THANKYOU PJ and WELCOME TO AUSTRALIA

See you in a few days Adelaide....

    Peter J D.

  • Wow, great show, breakerfall started off awsome pilate was great, loved all the new songs as well.
Arms wide open with the sea as my floor.
  • Wow, my stepson was the '12 year old kid' Eddie mentioned and spoke to. He was on the rail in front of Jeff. He was held up and had the cameras zoomed in on him and the whole audience got to see his moment of fame. he had people shaking his hand an hi-5ing him all the way out of the venue. He was blown away - what an experience for his first ever show!!! If anyone got some footage of this I'd love to get hold of it.

Incredible show - I did the set relay but had two phones die on me - sorry for the inaccuracies.

    WOW

Throw Yours Arms Around Me - must have been amazing!!!!!!!!
  • Great show lads has been awhile since I have been able to go one and I wasn't let down. Only downside was the tools behind us kept pushing so I spent most of the night protecting not only my wife but several other ladies whom where getting crushed. But othewise AWESOME show. :D

    Who did the poster ?????
have you seen the colors of my fathers eyes
  • Great summary by those above me. I only had reserved seating but it certainly seemed like the GA crowd at the front were going off. Big highlights for me were Garden, Love Reign O'er Me (having seen The Who earlier this year) and WMA. Paul that's one lucky kid you've got - did he score any souvenirs?
  • WOW!! Just reading your posts, is getting me so fucking pumped for Tues night in Adelaide.

Awesome sounding show... love the t-shirt (even though it's the Eagles) :D
Glaciers melting in the dead of night and the superstars sucked into the supermassive.
  • Awesome show by the boys - haven't seen them since the Yield tour & they are as tight now as they were then - highlights - Under Pressure, Unthought Unknown, Eddie mucking up I am mine, Given to Fly, Just Breathe, Mcready doing laps, Got Some, Yellow Ledbetter & Eddie running down the middle. Can't wait till next time!!!

WooHoo GREAT! Concert...Once again and NO 'LIP SYNCING' (Listen to the Boot) lol :)

Started off with BREAKERFALL with an Excellent WHY GO as the second song...played a couple of 'RIOT ACT' songs which they failed to do last time they were in Perth...so good to see that :)

Mike falling all over the stage during the Solo of EVEN FLOW! another favourite song of mine always goes off this song...and they stuffed up I AM MINE which was funny and cool that GARDEN was played...and BETTERMAN another Great SING-ALONG for the crowd :)

Luc Longley was there again...and ALIVE was simply amazing with EDDIE going down the middle of the crowd then sitting up on the Barrier probably about 2 metres away from me.

So yeah my ears are still ringing at the moment once again what a GREAT concert...thanks PEARL JAM.
  • I have bumps all over........ Come on Brisbane!!!!

Absolute great show, even despite all the tools with their pink bands busting in on all of us and pushing us around. Because of some of them I went from been 1 row behind the rail to about 5 or 6 rows behind, mainly due to 2 big blokes basically elbowing me in the chest and squeezing me out.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Sorry to hear that you lost your spot that really pisses me off.
I was really surprised when i found out it was GA for this tour.
In 95 and 98 i was down the front but it was so dangerous.
I'm 5ft nothing and skinny so i'm pretty sure i'll be struggling to hold on in Adelaide.

I would take your Sydney ticket in a heartbeat... unfortunately I'm halfway around the world and won't be in Sydney for another 3.5 weeks :(

Yeah, I'm nearly 5'11 and I fell in the mosh in Canberra in '95 and the Sydney GA show on March 11th was pretty insane (but both shows were amazing). Isn't Adelaide about 5 million degrees right now? Yikes!

I would take it also but moved from Australia to NJ last year so couldn't make it to this Aussie tour :(

He loved it - Eddie threw him a pick and made sure he got it, then a few songs later Mike threw him one. What a first concert for him to see!!

Don't apologise! Thanks for the relay!!

So that's what your message meant about a kid getting a pick! haha

    Great reporting guys, thankyou!

Now you've left me with the dilemma of what to start playing from the old i-tunes library. Can you believe I only got into Stuff and Nonsense after hearing it on the PJ video diary thing a few days ago? With a band this prolific you can take your eyes of the road for 2 seconds and miss bloody gold-dust! Will look out for that one over the coming days, and more evocative feedback from down-under....

There is no better singer, no better band. I'm certain of that!

Sounds like the show was a blast. Wish I could have been there :(

Could someone please provide some (any) links to newspapers (or other sources) with reviews of the concert?
I do not seem to be having any luck finding anything online. Thanks heaps :D

  • Great show, really good night. Liam Finn was outstanding, Ben was amazing and PJ topped them all. Good crowd, a couple of punch ups from dickheads but mostly everyone looked out for each other, very little crowd surfing (good to see)

the set list was great, good collection of some of the rarer live stuff (pilate, garden) and some of my current favourites (reign over me, just breathe)
my first front row PJ concert. outstanding.
