@brianlux you should pick this up (if the shipping cost isn't insane). It's Sloan, a Canadian band that I'd best describe as a 1990's canadian version of the Beatles (all 4 guys write, sing, play each others' instruments, even during the live show, etc). But they put out this mostly-covers album of hardcore/punk songs (and two originals). it's limited to 1200 copies.

Hey, thanks for the heads up.  Good band but maybe a little to Bealtesque for my tastes these days.  I think I'd rather the limited copies go to fans, but thanks for letting me know about it!

but this album isn't beatlesque at all. it's all hardcore punk. given what you posted about death and bad brains, I thought you'd dig it.

I would love to sample some of it before laying out the cash.  Could not find a link to any of the song, but if you have one, I would definitely check it out!

^^^ Yeah, for sure.  Terrific documentary!  See the other recent discussion on the band Death and the documentary here:  https://community.pearljam.com/discussion/223252/death#latest

I have Death's 2015 release N.E.W. on vinyl coming in any day now.  Can't wait to hear it!

Did you get Carnegie hall yet?  the sound quality is sooooo much better than Shakespeare...To the point where I feel ripped off that I paid money for Shakespeare first. Carnegie has a better setlist too.

Freddie Hubbard was awesome.  Saw him at a jazz festival in the mid 80's and I kept expecting flames to start shooting out of his trumpet.  Mesmerizing!

Yes. I think I ordered Carnegie Hall together with some album that hasn't been released yet (the Flagday soundtrack maybe...) so haven't gotten it yet. Felt more intrigued about collecting the bootleg series and honestly didn't feel like I need Young Shakespear. But I bought it.

Had I known how good Carnegie was I would have skipped Shakespeare.  You will love it.  You can hear the strings and the wood, not just the notes. It’s incredible.
