I agree.  I don't have the box, but I was able to collect a handful of these when they were sold individually.  They are... spectacular.  Pure analog and you can tell.  I will probably not get this because I don't love the early Beatles and I have the Red and Blue records in all analog already, but agree.  If you really dig on the Beatles, this is as good as it gets.

The Neil Young covers album came while I was away at the PJ shows. Haven’t had a chance to listen yet.

Wow. Is that Food for Thought an original pressing? I have an original, but it's got more road wear. Still plays nicely.

    OG & 49 cents!
barly played with a slight warp.
Did not know/forgot who JBs are. Read the song titles and thought this will be a good one!
Second hand thrift store that seems to get less dug lately.

The collection is now complete. Took over two  years to release them all but worth the wait.

Well then that’s some excellent sarcasm

i really want the MOFI of that release but it’s really expensive and never goes back to print. They would sell it out quickly.

    Oh good, haha.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but I just can't. This will sound just fine when I spin it (in August - this is a pre-order).

Oh this is a new release?  Do you have a link?  All I have is an original that sounds good, but it's 40 years old or whatever, has some wear, definitely 140g.  As a rule, Billy Joel was recorded very well, so I bet a new release will be a step up from an original.

edit - found it.  But thanks for the info.  Had no idea.

It is indeed, right in the Billy Joel store, and the price isn't too bad. It seems to be in celebration of this new HBO Max documentary that's coming out on him this summer. :) But there is NO info on the nature of the release, oddly enough.

They actually reissued it a couple months ago! I just picked it up as it was on Amazon’s “buy one get one 50% off” sale on select LPs. The sale is no longer going on, but it’s in stock for $25.

My parents bought me an original pressing of Vitalogy sealed. Had to crack it open and play side 1. Sounded amazing!! Now I’m going to clean it and play side two later

Of all the PJ albums, this is the one where the original is SO much better than the shitty reissue, that the reissue is basically just garbage in comparison. I remember getting the reissue to just kinda save my original from too much play, and after one spin, I gave the reissue away for free, in disgust.
