Just arrived today- the Legacy 2010 reissue of Electric Ladyland.  Can't wait to spin this one (when our power is restored!)

Early D.O.A. kicks much ass. Both those D.O.A. LP's, Rat Music comp and Token Entry are all OG press but definitely been played hard. But all still spin fine and they were really cheap ;)

Token Entry...wow. Saw them at CBGB for the Free For All show they recorded with rest in pieces, no for an answer...had the cassette of that show and I am on the cover. Got to get another one of those.

hardcore matinee Sunday show. Those were the best! Started around 2pm. My mom dropped me off there! I was one lucky kid!!!

No BS merch lines...just a bunch of kids enjoying pure rough music...I usually stayed away from the pit there. Always looked dangerous. Just skanked it up on the outskirts.
    End of flashback.

Badass! I didn't get to CB's til 2006 for the closing shows. Heard lots about all those old matinee shows. AF did play a matinee gig at Bowery Electric which is just a block down from the old CB's a few years ago. But yeah i love all the old NYHC shit!

Oh yeah. My homie is one of the guys who started doing the matinees there after CB's got too outta hand. For me that scene along with places like Gilman, Che Cafe, etc. etc... really is what made me a lifer!  It looks so weird/shitty without that building down there now. It's rad that the collective actually owns that land now tho and will rebuild. Apparently Billie Joe from Green Day gifted them mucho $$.

Never went to ABC. Honestly I lost touch with the hc scene...but its my roots and finding my way back. Green day dude helping out. Very nice to hear. Makes my stomach turn a little when I saw CBGB store in Newark airport. Was such a counter culture back then. Became a bit fashionable. I guess thats ok if iit gets another place reopened. Glad to know others that enjoy this bad music too!!!

Hell yeah! Spitboy kicked ass. Never seen em but i have the LP they put out on Ebullition records. Great stuff. My friends i grew up with in MI played there in the early ninties and i kind of found out the scene from them. Their band was called Civil Disobedience. Check them out.

That is some good ol' fashion hardcore right there.

Lead singer reminds me of The Refused singer.

    I like.
