Result of today's trip to the record store. Traded in some stuff I never listen to, so spent $11.
The happy surprise is that Imagine is the original Canada pressing and it has an absolutely mint copy of the big poster of Lennon singing at the piano in it.
Question: does that title sticker peel off of The Wall reissue without doing damage?Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

Regarding removing stickers- I do that frequently with books and records. If the surface is fairly glossy, I use a few drops of Citra Solv which loosens most adhesives (my preference because it's non-toxic). Once it's loosened, carefully go under the sticker with a thin sharp knife being careful not to puncture through the paper surface and then wipe the residue off with those blue mechanic's paper towel or a soft cloth. If the paper is more porous, use a few drops of lighter fluid which works very well also. Both tend to appear to leave a stain but almost always that goes away when it evaporates. Use ventilation if you use the lighter fluid- that stuff is pretty toxic to breath or absorb through the skin.
Hope that helps!

Nice pick-up's PJ_Soul, I need that 'Blood on the Tracks' too, such a classic. Personally I'd leave the Pink Floyd sticker, to me the cover is kinda dull with out it.PJ_Soul said:Result of today's trip to the record store. Traded in some stuff I never listen to, so spent $11.

New:
The War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream.
Does anyone else have or have heard this record? I think I saw Smarchee post it a while back. I'm a few months late on this, but must say this is my favourite album of the year, it's ridiculously good, I can't recommend this enough! Plus, my wife was nice enough to track down some tickets for us when they play here in December!A wop bop a loo bop a lop bam boom.0 -
Thanks! Blood on the Tracks is so awesome - listened to it last night. The version of Idiot Wind is particularly awesome IMO.reesdog said:

I agree the cover will look boring without the title on it, but the sticker actually looks stupid. It's a crappy paper sticker and you can kind of see the brick lines through it but not to much, so It just looks kind of cheap and tacky. So I figure removing it is the best of two bad options. However, I will give it some more thought before committing an irreversible act, lol!
Brian, thank you for the tips on removing it!!

Hawkwind: Space Ritual, Hall of the Mountain Grill.
Side one of Space Ritual is particularly mesmerizing. I can't believe it took me this long to catch up with this band. Big thanks to Henry Rollins for several mentions of this guys in some of his books which led me to digging the early incarnation of this band very much!"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
Finally picked this up a couple weeks ago. Not sure what took me so long. I had seen youtube clips and really dug their sound, but nothing like the full album experience. One of my favorites of the year, too. I definitely have to check out Slave Ambient.reesdog said:New:

Slave Ambient is kind of like one long song... hard to explain but you will get what I am talking about when you listen to it.
I actually prefer their first record over it.livefootsteps.org/user/?usr=446
