    When will players realize you don't slide into first base? It's proven that you don't get there faster. Run through the base.

    You do anything for the team in a situation like that. Gardner did it in the ALCS game 1 in 2010 and was safe.

    But he still would have gotten to the base faster by running through. Saw some sports show about it. Not only is it unsafe it's just not faster. The moment you stop running you're slowing down. Now if you're trying to avoid a tag of the first baseman up the line thats a different story. I used to carck up watching Kenny Lofton doing it all of the time. :fp: :lol:
