    lot of questions indeed.

but you have to be happy with the minnesota match up. would have been brutal facing lee twice in a 5 game series. see how tampa handles him.

even if we get out of this series... i don't have a lot of faith in a 7 game series against anyone. our pitching staff has so many hole in it, it isn't even funny. might be a good time for our offense to go on an absolute tear.

I wonder how he will handle it. I know he will be disappointed since he is a competitor and thinks he should start but he also knows he has not been good enough. An interesting situation. Hopefully he can come up with a big start in the ALCS if they get there.

I think he's mature enough to deal with it. The one thing I personally like from him is that when he stinks, his comments are not hollow generic. Listening to him speak after a bad start, you know it personally bothers him. There are a lot of guys who you do not get that sense from.

I agree. He is very honest when it comes to that stuff. I just always found it interesting when he has been asked if he thinks he should start he says, "yes" flat out instead of saying "thats up to joe" or something along those lines. I do agree thought, i think he will handle it well.

I've heard enough pitchers say they had good stuff and it was just a few bad pitches after allowing three home runs. At some point, you just want to interrupt and say, yeah, three bad pitches that traveled 800 feet..

Absolutely, I think both Kennedy and Joba have had that problem the past couple years.

Didn't think about this until I read it today but as frustrated as we were of the Yanks play down the stretch, all 4 AL teams really stumbled into the postseason.

apologize if you guys discussed this already, but what's the rotation look like vs minn? I haven't been able to find it online, so I'm not sure if they have announced their plans post-game 1.

Postseason roster for this round will not include Vazquez, Nova or Gaudin.

    And the rotation is CC-Pettitte-Hughes-CC-Pettitte

Why Moesley over Nova? Maybe because Nova has been so bad wih runners on?

take our chances against the twinkies...we've won the whole thing from the wild card b4

I am not too worried about the Twins, anything can happen in a short series but I don't see the Yanks losing this one. As bad as they have been playing I can easily see them coming out of the AL.

And this is why I'm betting on the yanks to win this series.

This might be old news to you guys, but I just read that yanks will be going with

    CC
    pettitte
    hughes
    CC
    pettitte

I don't know why everyone is on the twins nuts. nick blackburn?? really???

Actually they haven't won as the wild card, losing in 1995, 1997 and 2007. but this is the best of those four teams. the 1995 Yankees had little in the pen because they didn't know about Rivera, the 1997 team was good but all year I felt were missing and the 2007 team was lucky they hit so well in the second half because the pitching was worse than this year's team. (Kyle Farnsworth anybody?)

  • I love their chances against The Twins, then it could go either way against Tampa or Texas (probably Tampa). And if they make it to the WS, Philly seems unbeatable this year. Maybe the Giants will knock them off in what could be an absolute classic of an NLCS. That said, the Giants could beat the yankees in the Series anyway

Agreed, I am not as confident as last year but I think they have a decent shot. The Phillies are definitely the team to beat.

I agree as well, Oswalt really makes that big of a difference. Yanks would have to be patient and work counts to knock these guys out as early as possible. But we are getting ahead of ourselves. I feel Cano will shine this postseason..I think he's ready to have his team lean on him a bit

Definitely. Cano was awful last year in the postseason. If Tex, A-Rod, and Cano are all on fire in the postseason, it'll be really tough to stop the Yankees, especially if runners are on when these three are up.

yankees need swisher to show up this postseason too. think his postseason average last year was around .220.

still wish girardi rested tex more down the stretch. broken toe is bitch of an injury for a baseball player to fight through.

screw the 9:00 start tonight, that is awful!

My prediction....if the yankees go far in the playoffs Curtis Granderson will be a big reason why.
