Actor Edward Norton has produced a documentary chronicling America's next President Barack Obama's path to the White House.

The Fight Club star's production company Class 5 Films has closed a deal with bosses at American network HBO, who plan to air the finished programme early in 2009.

Norton reportedly approached the Obama campaign in 2006 to document his entrance into the world of politics. Directors Alicia Sams and Amy Rice filmed extensive footage of the Obama in his role as Illinois' senator and continued to shoot the politician as he kicked off his presidential campaign in 2007.

Norton tells the Hollywood Reporter, "Senator Obama's history-making race for the White House has given our film a perfect framework to explore the pulse of the country at this vital moment in our history." »

VIDEO of HBO's By The People Premieres November 3 9pm ET

Has anbody seen this documentary? Also did anybody REALLY think he could win a Presidential election?

not to rail against obama....but where's this change we can believe in?

we're still stuck in 2 wars, washington is still catering to corporations, those responsible for last years crimes are walking free........what specifically has he done that can be labeled change we can believe in? specifcally, what has changed in Washington? support for Isreal continues, we still spend more on our military than the rest of the world combined...

i'm all for hope and optimism, i voted for obama.....and i still believe something good can come from his presidency, but i'm trying real hard to find something positive about it right now.

Edward Norton calls this historic? why ? because of obamas skin color? maybe that is historic. but that means fuckall if he doesn't DO anything for the majority while he's president

how about we judge Obama for what he does, and not for who he is.
  • Also did anybody REALLY think he could win a Presidential election?

I bet a friend of mine $500 that he would be the next president way back in Jan/Feb 2008. (edit: it was actually fall 2007) At that time most people assumed it would be Hillary v. McCain or Romney. Ever since he was featured on NPR in like 2006 or so, I had a feeling.

I still haven't seen any of that $500. Jeff (my friend) says that since we were really drunk when we made the bet it isn't enforceable. :x

    .

    Interesting....

A big reason for Obama's big drop in poll numbers is because liberals (or commies :) ) actually get disappointed and hold their elected officials accountable.

Wish conservatives would've done the same....then we wouldn't be in the mess we are now.

he has been in office for not even 10 months....how much change did you expect?

give the guy a few years....I'm hoping he delivers. If he can get some meaningful change to our health care system he will have accomplished much

great post ! I agree with your/this view,I didn't vote for obama as I could see the train coming but I still hope to see him do good.
big corporations have been given enough rope to hang them selfs (and us ) with out sourcing and job cut's at will, I work for a major corporation and we are going through lay-off's right now and out sourcing to china,Poland and France at the coast of American job's and family's.
more than money this is a battle for world dominance in a industry,it's a cooperations play for world power and there are no mercies for those left in the wake of big business.....just my opinion.
I think out-sourcing will cause great disaster in American business and the rebuild will be costly.

I've seen *The Obama Deception* and I KNEW a Democrat was going to be elected President but just not him. Also it just seems the way things fell that it was a perfect setup for Obama to win that election. It was almost too perfect the way most voted him into office.

What other country would vote into office the enemy?
Just by his name alone (of course there are other reasons) he should not have been voted into the presidency or any other office in this country. Politically correctness is going to be the down fall of this country, if it’s not too late already.

i am not sure, but i think that calling the president of the united states your enemy is some sort of treason, is it not?

judging a man by his name is like judging a book by its cover. i have some preconceived notions about you based on your screen name, but your posts speak for themselves and they speak for you.

I know you already know this, but it's a name to be proud of, and denigrating anyone based on name alone, is a form of racial and religious bigotry of the most vile and debased sort.

you say you are not a bigot, but your rational is very similar to what a bigot would say. the man has an arabic name, but he is not arabic and he is not a muslim, and he is not your enemy. i do not see how voting for a man named barack hussein obama is a bad thing. your example of cowboys and indians is off base. the indians were not considered citizens and thus were ineligible to be a leader of anything other than their tribe. also no indian tribe would have accepted let alone "voted" for a white man to be their leader. they were not even allowed to vote in those times.....

your post makes me think you are saying that we should not have voted for an african american because he is different and therefore incapable of being a leader, let alone a president. you keep digging yourself a deeper hole and i guarantee your posts in this thread are making people lose even more respect for you and your point of view.

You must not get around much if you think my statement is a form of racial and religious bigotry of the most vile and debased sort. Why is it people always use race when they don't agree?....My statement had nothing to do with race....
This is my point .....when the cowboys and indians were fighting do you think the cowboys would have voted to have an indian cheif as there leader...and the indians would not have voted John Wayne as there leader....please don't start with the cowboys massacuring the indians because I think that was an atrocity also...I'm just saying what the he** are people thinking these days...
you say you are not a bigot, but your rational is very similar to what a bigot would say. the man has an arabic name, but he is not arabic and he is not a muslim, and he is not your enemy. i do not see how voting for a man named barack hussein obama is a bad thing. your example of cowboys and indians is off base. the indians were not considered citizens and thus were ineligible to be a leader of anything other than their tribe. also no indian tribe would have accepted let alone "voted" for a white man to be their leader. they were not even allowed to vote in those times.....

your post makes me think you are saying that we should not have voted for an african american because he is different and therefore incapable of being a leader, let alone a president. you keep digging yourself a deeper hole and i guarantee your posts in this thread are making people lose even more respect for you and your point of view.
Geez ....I never said a damn thing about african Americans....see ..It just proves my point.....if you don't get it, turn it into a race issue!......would you get it if I used Dogs and Cats?

the only way your analogy makes sense is if your'e talking about skin color, because Obama is not arabic.
