I have not been a member here when the band has been touring in my area, so I'm not sure how it works when they do.
Are the members here that have been members longer, eligible for better concert seats somehow? If so, how does that work?
Thanks for your replies!

You would probably be mid 400xxx to 500xxx by now.
The lower number you have= better seats at concerts. Kinda unfair but oh well, you still get benefits of sitting next to 10C members and almost always better seats/view than buying from TM or LN.

that's the same ?? i have how is that unfair ...
Sometimes my mind doesn't grasp how things work. And I like to understand how things work.
So do people with lower numbers (who have been members longer) get to purchase their tickets first somehow? How do you end up with those better seats?
I'm asking because I'm a member of a different fanclub and its just a clusterfuck how they do their presales.
so get like 1 in 10 randomised would be good, and at least give high numbers some hope (because right now the low numbers will never lapse, they've got the front sections locked completely forever)
but eh, all hail the GA shows , they're better anyway.
you buy a ticket, then they organize who sits where.
i think it's bullshit to be honest.
then they are assigned by seniority order, the lower numbers closest to the stage.
on the last american tour tickets go on sale for 10c members before the general public, but your # doesn't mean you get to purchase before any other member once you lock onto your tickets thats when your member # counts for something..
I should probably let some of you reply instead of being so jumpy! But what about this question?
that would be yes ..
For the record, I'm one that thinks its totally fair for people with the older (smaller) numbers to have better seats.
We might have all been fans the same length of time, but we are talking about the benefits of being a member of the fanclub. I think long time members should be eligible for better benefits.
Even if that means I'm sitting in the rafters.
that makes sense.
It is fair and equally applied and has been the policy forever. So people can bitch about it, but it only makes them look stupid.
whoaa i person that makes total sense very few of you around these parts ...i share the same sentiments ..
I absolutely agree.
Nice post
i see both sides... the sports thing is a good analogy...except that any given team will hold about 45 more opportunities for a hometown crowd to see them than 1 or 2 pearl jam shows every two or three years.
i guess that could go either way for the argument...
...anyways, its an old topic. i don't think much will change with the way your fanclub number relates to your seat.
i think its awesome that people who have been fans get to hold on to their seats, well deserved - but puhlease... its not that some of us chose not to be into them in 92. i mean, why the hell didn't my mom and dad get me a fan club membership on my 3rd birthday?
I refer to those in front"

Besides, those old timers up front need those seats so they can actually see and understand what's going on.

This makes me laugh...in a good way.
You whipper-snappers are so precious.
1994 must have been the big year I joined in 94 too and got 84xxx
I love seniority, but at the same time maybe limit the first few rows so there are not so many repeats to let some other people get that experience. I have had, and usually get rows 1-5, but if I go to more than one show I see the same 5 people dead center every show, why not move them over a few seats(not back) and let some randomly chosen fans from any number range get a chance( a lottery for the that show)? Basing this on people who go to many many shows. I have done this (gone to multiples) and love getting close believe me. I enjoy having been around a long time, but I do think every once in a while if I were going to more than say 3 shows on that 4th 5th getting stuck a few rows back and letting some fresh faces up front too. I am not saying move me/whomever back to the farthest seats just maybe like 6-10 to let a few new people get the joy of being right in Ed's/Mike's/Jeff's/Stones grill.
General admission just sucks experience wise for a more than one time deal.
BY the way next tour I am going to take one lucky fan with me to a show in the midwest, all you have to do is get there. I'll have some sort of contest for fans with number past a certain range and assuming my tickets get a good seat the winner will get some good viewing with me,all assuming seniority stays in place. I want to help spread the jam---up close.
wow and I thought I was a late bloomer PJ fan, I'm not as bad (numberwise) as many others
8/08 - Ed solo in DC, 6/09 Ed in B'more,
10/10 - Brad in B'more
You said it Jose!
You young people that complain about not getting good seats because of your age? I'll trade you my second row seats anyday for your youth. PM me if you're interested.
Ha!
