Eddie is greater than Jim Morrison!

I was surfin around youtube and i found this video of Jim Morrison trying to get the lighting crew to turn down the lights...kinda like in the Even Flow video where ed tells the lighting crew to turn down the lights...Jim was unsuccessful however...therefore Ed is better than Jim

    the second i read your post i knew exactly what you were talking about without even watching clips. that is exactly how you get "josh" to turn the lights off.

    as far as greater then jim. well that is a bold statement. i see where you are going with it but bad choice of words.

    I have seen that Pj clip numerous times.

    However, that Doors clip was fucking AWESOME!!! Jim Morrison was one bad motherfucker!!

    Ed better than Jim Morrison? I cannot sign off on that statement.

    I feel Jim Morrison is slightly overrated. But was one of the greats no doubt.

    Morrison was a buffoon.

    He wasn't the first to get arrested on stage.

    He's been deified because he died at an early age.

    All sneer, no substance. The W. Axl Rose of his time.

    I've never liked the Doors, so Ed is better.

    I can think of a hundred bands I think are better than the Doors.

    The Who
    Rolling Stones
    Neil Young
    The Police
    Talking Heads
    The Ramones
    The Beatles
    R.E.M.
    Tom Petty
    David Bowie
    Bruce Springsteen
    I could go on and on..

    Doors are like Nirvana.. over glorified by the singers death.

    Doors = overrated.

    I like the Doors alot but they really don't have much variety in their music, doesn't make them bad just not great

    if Ed had lived in the 1960's, I believe you'd be retracting that statement. They cannot be compared, really, if for no other reason than the eras that each of them were around in. it's impossible to predict what kind of person Ed would have been in the 60's, and same goes for JM today. they were/are both a product of their respective times.

    And who said Nirvana were overrated just because of a premature death?? are you INSANE????

    To me his lyrics are much better, his performance is much better (only have videos of Jim to go on here) and his attituide to life was better (again, I only have reports, docos and a questionable movie to go on). Not dissing the guy, and I agree, it is probably and unfair comparison anyway.

    You got to admit though, Jim was very polite which was quite unusual. This performance must have happened after he'd gotten arrested.

    i have always liked the doors... that clip is from there LIVE AT MSG LP. dont remember the date but you can still buy it, its not a boot it was legit release .... As for the statement by the OP... i would have to say its like comparing apples to oranges.... i think we need to find someone who was at that show or even at the age of 15-20 during those years and then take him to a pearl jam concert , and see waht he says......for the doors .... putting out new music was like trying new drugs...you can totaly tell what drugs the guy was on just by the lyrics of half his songs....let alone seeing it on video..... i got uncles who went to DOORS concerts...they said the shit that went down at show was something out of this world....the drugs..the sex...the MOMENT ...we go to a pearl jam show cause we love the music...we love the state of mind they put us in...hell half of us can thank PJ for saving our own lives...(i can).........The doors ....people went to shows ...to relax to the music have sex in the hallways...and do as many drugs as possible..when was the last time you heard of OD at a pearl jam show....at most of THE DOORS concerts they had EMS workers on hand and a few ambulances parked out front ...

    my point is .....well nothing really ..... i just think and we all can agree that the music in the 60's-70's was different....i can see an argument about creed Vs PEARL JAM....but not the DOORS vs PEARL JAM

    I Always thought Morrison was overrated to start with. Eddie is far better imo.
