ggggggrrrrrrrrrrr. why does this always happen?
healthy, life is good, rolling along and then BAM, outta NO where - sick. felt 100% fine and good yesterday, went to bed feeling fine, about 2 hours in bed realized, it felt like i had razor blades in my throat, and my head was throbbing. i dislike being sick period, but it always seems i get ill right around when i have SO much coming up!

this weekend is the annual oyster festival, my husband's band will be playing both days, all day. also have the annual breast cancer walk with my sister sunday morning. not to mention, philly halloween weekend is right around the corner. also, can not call in sick b/c altho i am doing close to nada, i need to be here 'just in case' b/c 10.15 used to be a big deadline for my firm, still is a deadline, but looks like we're set...but none the less, here i am. sucks. :|

i hope i can kick this cold's ass ASAP.

Drink plenty of liquids and flush the blahs out of your system. Or taste some wasabi and blow the cold out of your system. You have to watch out for heart attacks, but other than that with the wasabi sauce method the cold is usually gone. I hope you feel better.

One time I had a cold, and I guess I usually ate tame wasabi sauce, because I had about a 1/2 teaspoon and my head was on fire. Blew that cold right out the window. My heart was a little uppity, but at least the cold was gone.

    oh alrighty. hahaha.
right now i just want tortellini en brodo. mmmm.

xavier, yes...i agree. actually yesterday was colder. i am usually more susceptible to sickness when the seasons change. just really threw me b/c i had NO warning signs, and have really been taking good care of myself - eating healthy, exercising, getting plenty of sleep, taking my vitamins and super C drop every morning. thought i found the 'magic system'...haha. but yes, it was COLD last night. i hate turning on the heat in october too. so i did wait it out. i put the big fluffy comforter on my bed, put on socks b/c i was freezing :P ....and still wasn't warm. then when i woke up later, freezing with razor blades in my throat....broke down and turned on the heat. :?

and it just kills me b/c i have a weekend chock FULL of all day, outdoor activities. i hope i can nip this in the bud before then, or what should be a really good time will be quite miserable.

You could try Zinc or Echinacea, they both give the immune system a boost. Also plenty of vitamin C.

    Get Well Soon!!

i've been taking plenty of vitamin C daily. fuckers didn't ward it all off. :|
i just want to go home, have some tortellino en brodo.....some hot tea....curl up on the couch....maybe have a fire....watch a little TV...then go to bed and sleep, sleep, sleep! and it's not even noon. bleh.

my one hope - well, outside of kicking the cold to the curb ASAP - that this will constitute my one annual cold for the autumn/winter season. get it over early and be healthy the whole way through? *fingers crossed*

    thanks all!
i am ready to sleep under my desk.....

ginger and wasabi....i am sensing a trend. ;)
all i really want is tortellini soup tho!

and yes, i AM at work. i explained why in my first post.
it really Is quite silly, i've done next to nothing today, but i need to be here 'just in case.' so yes, no sleeping in for me, blah, blah.

BD - no joke about swine flu. when all that first went down, as many of our colleagues regularly go to china, japan, korea, etc....official 'warning' emails have been sent out regularly to stay home and be safe, etc. haven't gotten one of those in awhile tho....and yea, tis the end of busy season. so busy or not need to be here. if it were after 10.15 i would have no qualms about calling out. eh well.

My dad's sworn remedy is a hot toddy. He really likes rum, though, so his motives are questionable...as is the number of drinks...
