first off I im not joking. Maybe playing the devils advocat a little bet but I like pearl jam more. Second, I dont think its cool for people to call Godsmack Godcrap. Its not fair to the band or (or to God for that matter) Ive never realy listened to alice in chains but i doubt Godsmack RIPPED off them. Thats like saing pearl jam ripped of the doors or something.

Come on now, you can't be serious with your awful spelling. No graduamated the school?

You totally missed the point. I just proved they're a "ripoff". Also why would Alice In Chains play a Godsmack song? It would just sound like they're playing a really shitty Alice In Chains song.

be fair. they had at least 2 and 1/2 hits.

there was that "never misunderstand me" song, and then the song that goes "yeah" a bunch of times, and then that wiccan snakebite song was kind of a hit.

oh yeah, the army commercial song too.
  • Fine whatever Godsmack sucks I guess but at least there fans are kool and not a bunch of ***holes like some of you guys. Godsmacks lastest single "Whiskey Hangover" went #1 and Godsmack just came off a very successful tour this summer, they have alot of fans. And similar to Pearl Jam, they put on an amazing live show.
  • Godsmack blows!

    Pearl Jam are legendary!

they were making fun of us?? OH NO!!! can your dad beat up my dad too?

gimme a break. you had to expect some hate on this, suggesting GS is better than PJ on THE PJ MESSAGE BOARD. Get a brain, dude.

I liked GS's first album and the acoustic EP (which they also copied from AIC-see Jar of Flies and Sap), but every song is the same. They put on a good show (saw them twice on their own in a theatre and once they opened for Metallica), but their show is pretty much the same all the time. It got boring.

I bought Whiskey Hangover off iTunes without even hearing it. Then I listened to it.

    What a waste of $.99 .

  • I learn so much from these threads. First off I dont no how all of you can love grunge music so much and hate nu metal so much. Get over it grunge was in the 90s. Who says you cant listen to newer music? Alot of the nu metal bands are influnced by nirvana and pearl jam.

"grunge was in the 90's". the media coined that phrase, not the bands. Pearl Jam transcends genres and trends.

YOU GET OVER IT. if it was so yesteryear, what the fuck are YOU doing here??

Dude, think about the argument you're making on a Pearl Jam forum. What the fuck did you expect?

Tell your Godsmack friends that I'm pretty sure they don't need a fan club membership to be on the board.

I like Godsmack, but I just don't see your point in this thread...

I dug Godsmack when they first came out. Not as good as Pearl Jam though. They do put on a decent live show though. I liked their first albums, kinda wore out after that for me.

If you like to wear cheesey bowling shirts with flames all over them, wear biker boots, have "tribal"(I use the term loosely) tattoos and drink Budweiser, then Godsmack is your band!

Just asking a question. I no this is a pearl jam message board and everything but sense pearl jam and Godsmack sound alot the same and our both grunge I figured theirs alot of the same fans so some hafta like godsmack alot to.

Insert these words where necessary and remove the homonyms: Know, since, are, there's, have to, too.

I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just very bored. :)
